Strong old trees near the ocean and my house.
There are lots of things I hope for in 2024.
Peace.
Laughter. I read P.G. Wodehouse for laughter. The Code of the Woosters is a hoot.
Puppy love. The love of a pup old or young.
Play. Play with pup. Play with friends.
Silliness. Never too much silliness in my life, it is always welcome. Related to play, see above.
Reading. In this way I enlarge my world and my experiences and my knowledge. Reading Greenlights I get to learn some things Matthew McConaughey shares. Look for those green lights in life, friends.
Spend time outdoors. Breathe deeply in that clean outdoor air and send out prayers of thanks for all good things.
Continue to make new friends, welcome new people into church, invite them for coffee.
Pray for my country to turn back to our roots of freedom and faith and to secure our borders.
Change my routine a bit. Visit our Boardwalk and ride the horses on the carousel. See Silliness and Play above.
Plant more flowers and flowering shrubs and plant another fruit tree. I am thinking an apple tree.

Great list. I hope to get outdoors more this year also. Do a little more gardening in the yard and a few more cookouts. I hope to take more walks and get myself to the gym. I want to really seek out enjoyment in the small things.

I like your list, Terra. And I agree with the silliness. It makes you laugh... and laughing is good. DH tends to sing little ditties when we're out and about. I used to tell him to stop, but now I think why not - it shows he's happy - and that's good. Wishing you a safe happy healthy 'silly' New Year!
What a great start to the new year that list is! If we all tried to do those things, and if our "leaders" would help us a bit, we would could all look back this time next year at the wonderful year we'd just experienced. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a friend in Israel. I also have Palestinian friends I met in Illinois. I don't know the answer. I can only hope for it.

What a great list...love the one being silly. Sometimes we just have to be kids again and enjoy kicking up our heels. Yes may there be peace and of course we can never go wrong planting more flowers :)! Happy New Year.
I also love my pup. I love puppies to play with them in my free time at home. It's a great way to make your day full of smiles by playing with animals.
We all need a dose of silliness ion our lives. A robust sense of humour helps to balance the seriousness in life. My hopes for 2024 are pretty much like everyone else's I suppose - peace and harmony, an end to misery and suffering and the ability to find pleasure in small things.

Peace is the most important since everyone seems angry and no one has ideas on how to compromise.
