I was ahead of my time, fighting smog, with this sticker on my guitar case back in my college days. I still have the guitar and case and took the photo recently. I sang and played countless English folk songs (Silver Dagger which I still sing around the house when I am alone), the Civil Rights movement (Follow the Drinking Gourd), and lots of Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan songs.
Above is the view from a favorite restaurant near my house. Friends took me to birthday lunch there in April. Parking is expensive and hard to find near the beach and this restaurant has free parking for customers, a valet parks it for you. Of course I give a tip. More photos taken near my home near the ocean. I moved here more than 40 years ago and love the sea, it is a balm to my soul and body.

Hi Terra - it must be lovely to still be living in and around 'your home' area - it does look beautiful ... and how lovely to have friends take you for your birthday lunch last April - let's hope the same happens this year!
I'm coming out of my January blues and minor ills - still it's getting lighter and now not so cold here ... but am grateful I live in a country where the temperature is usually equitable! Cheers and all the best - Hilary

Here rain is just now turning a lot of snow into a really nasty mess of slush and ice, and I'm just thankful I've not needed to set foot outdoors today (and hopefully not tomorrow either)...
I grew up just north of you in Pacifica. I miss the beach. I’m landlocked here in the northern Central Valley and can’t get to the beach until the snow melts in the mountains, so it will be late spring.
I do love the mountains. Our best friends live in Prunedale and my late sister was living in Watsonville so I know the area well.

Hi Terra. It has been quite stormy here of late with yet another one due tomorrow. We are ok in this corner and have not had any damage, thankfully.

Loved your post today. The guitar case and sticker is from my area too. I truly love the ocean and God was good to let me live by the ocean for six years in Santa Barbara, CA while we served in a little Missionary Church. Our youngest daughter was born there 1970.
My January is going very well. Got some doctors appt. taken care of and enjoying our new Women's Bible Study.

How lovely to live so close to the ocean. Sigh. We're having a lot of ice these days as things warm up, melt, rain and refreeze at night. Part of the life cycle in Michigan but not the fun part! Other than that, January is good. Love that guitar case!

We are pretty lucky with the weather here in CA. And living close to the ocean certainly is something wonderful. I have always wanted to live near the ocean and for the past 20+ years I have. That looks like a beautiful place to have a birthday lunch. I hope you will continue to enjoy the ocean.

Your post reminds me class friends from school days. Few of them had awesome voice and we would listen them everyday during break time or so.
