Cypress tree, bay, antique mail box, cactus I saw on my walk

I saw this antique mailbox in my neighbor's yard today, as I walked to see the bay with Bounce.

Looking to the left I see these cypress trees, above.
To my right when facing the bay I see these powerful waves and the cliffs. I love these clouds.
Above is a succulent sitting on top of a pot which reminds me of a barrel cactus, so the succulent looks like it is growing out of a huge stem. There are lots of cactus in this neighbor's garden.

My walk and some happy moments

On my walk today at 9 a.m. before church on March 19 I enjoyed the quiet. Few people were out. Later I know there will be many people out walking, jogging, bicycling, skate boarding, pushing baby strollers and walking dogs. On my quiet walk with my dog Bounce we discovered the same box full of free lemons we saw yesterday. Each day I took four gorgeous yellow lemons. Doesn't their cheerful color make you happy too? I treated myself to some pretty pink roses, as you can see. On that same walk I gave 3 magazines to a Little Free Library and took one book, set in Istanbul, a city I love. The book is "Arabesk" by Barbara Nadel and is the third in a detective series that is new to me. Along the bay two blocks away I saw people on a walk/run to raise money for charity. When we have moments like these it is wise to cherish them, before the tears come again. Somehow I found this walk and these moments to be healing.

Horse and flowers in the garden on a neighborhood stroll

Look out friends, I have been on a stroll around our neighborhood and took some photos.
My neighbor's horse made me smile.

I was very surprised to see their horse.
In another garden I saw this pretty Mexican bush sage. The flowers feel like velvet and I have some in our yard too.
Isn't this palm tree handsome? I am guessing this is a date palm. What do you think?
That was a fun walk, and I hope you enjoyed it too.

Nature walk near our house

This sign is at the beginning of the nature walk I took this week. Are these signs everywhere, or just here, I wonder.
This is the new bridge that is for walkers and bicyclists and it is a great short cut to two areas of town separated by a steep gulch.
I love oak trees, especially old ones with their dramatic curved limbs.
And here is an interpretive sign about the nature you can see on the walk.

That is a nice place to spend time and I plan to return often.
