At Christmas my oldest son gave me some solar floodlights for my garden. Above is on a night with the full moon. The lights illuminate just a few small areas, and turn off at about midnight. As you can see, most of the garden remains pitch black. I think it gives my gardens a romantic mood. Can you see the two metal peacocks flanking the birdbath? Behind it is my pink rose bush, not in bloom yet.
Above you can see the peacock friends more clearly and below is one of my peacock sculptures in the day time.
When we had our winery on land in the country I was intrigued to get some live peacocks but I realized they do a lot of loud cries and shrieks which would be disconcerting to our neighbors. Once for an anniversary treat we went to a rural motel in our area and they had lots of free roaming peacocks that had acclimated quite well to California.

It is beautiful!
Gorgeous peacock sculptures! And yes, much quieter than real ones, LOL!
I love peacocks too. They are very beautiful but their cries are so loud and ugly.
Great photos with the floodlights and the full moon.
Oh yes, the solar lights definitely give a mysterious glow. The full moon just makes the effect more mysterious.
I love your peacocks!! They are beautiful! So is your moonlit garden.
So you owned a winery? I bet that was fun! Did you write a book about that?
We have only one wild peacock at the ranch - the male that was in the peacock pen got out and went away! They are deciding how to mate the wild one with the peahen in the cage. That will be interesting! Maybe free the pea hen?
Magical garden
Gosh, that lighting is magical!
Thought about gifting some lights for MDay, but I didn’t. Another time maybe. Of course, yours make me think that maybe I should have.
That peacock is beautiful. Not as noisy as the real ones!
The peacocks are a delight, so pretty.
Yes, the solar lights add a touch of mystery.
The peacocks are beautiful.
You have a romantic garden with secret lights - special in the fullmoon-nights - the sculptures become real peacocks - - -
I love this kind of fairytale-dreaming - -
I like your peacocks and the floodlights.
I didn't know you used to own a winery. That's pretty cool!
I have heard peacock cries and they are indeed raucous! Your sculptures are charming, as is your garden. xoxo
That is lovely, do like the peacock.
There are peacocks at our zoo that walk free among the visitors, so I've seen and heard them :)
Your garden is lovely. And you've answered my question about what to get my brother for Father's day. Thank you.
It's nice to have the lights around at night and beautiful with the full moon! Enjoy your week!
*gasp* What beauty!! Thank you for sharing your world, Terra! ~Andrea xoxo
Those are beautiful peacock sculptures! Our local zoo had free roaming peacocks and they come right up to you!
Beautiful nighttime glow. Yes, peacocks have a very annoying cawing that can go on endlessly. Not good for neighbors--LOL! But they are gorgeous birds. At least the males are. ;)
Beautiful garden with the lights, peacocks and birdbaths. We saw several peacocks last week at Mountfitchet castle. They do make a mighty racket, not only with their cries that sound like a woman screaming for help, but with their colorful tails rattling when fanned out.
Blessings,
Betsy
Your garden at night looks cool with the solar nights. And look at that Peacock, she's a beauty for sure. I bet the full moon was a wonderful sight!
