Joy in 2025

I have always loved horses and rode them at a riding stable, the two I rode were Sunset and Frosty.
My pink rose bush in spring or summer., It is an old rare variety that I bought at a university arboretum about 30 years ago.
I am hoping that 2025 will be a joyful and hopeful year overall for all of us.

I purchased the above painting from a charity store named something like Habitat. This is a large painting 32" x 44" and it barely fit into my car and on the wall in my bedroom, but it did fit. It gives me smiles when I look at the girl and and the flowers and woodland scene. What do you have in your home that brings you smiles?

That deer photo is very cool!
I like your painting too. I don't know about things that make me smile, but the things I have decorating my home make me feel peaceful and at home.

Oh, how I love the first photo you shared here, Terra! We have lots of deer that roam in our neighborhood and I never cease to marvel at their ability to coexist with humans if the environment is right. May 2025 be filled with God's blessings upon this nation. Blessings to you!

Hi Terra, What a pretty painting. I think it would make me happy too.. Mandy things make me happy in our home. I think my favorite right now is the scrolling photo frame our London kids gave us for Christmas. Every few days we realize there are new photos on there that they upload from far away. We both love that. Our granddaughter is growing so fast and we're missing it. The photos help a LOT.
Blessings,
Betsy

Sadly, for way too many, January has not started off in a very peaceful or positive manner. Home is where we should feel safe and so many have lost that. I'm surrounded by so many things that I love; hobbies and books that allow me to make and learn. When I was 12, a friend and i decided to write a book about horses. We collected anything horse related, even found tail hairs that stuck in barbed wire fences, playing cards, etc. We had an old typewriter and would sit in her closet and tap away. :)

Enjoyed all the pictures you shared today. That is a nice painting and even better that it brings you joy when you look at it.

Love that deer photo.

Must be a very impressive painting. I have no art on my walls that comes anywhere near that size. I have lots of various things that make me happy because they have memories attached, though.

My grandfather was a cowboy in real life. He loved horses and always had them on the farm. Bird was the one we all learned to ride. She was a devil-horse with an experienced rider but gentle and careful with us.

You would laugh at what makes me smile, Terra. My cheeky chickens (tiny ceramic chickens I made in pottery class) and a very old plastic frog toy that sits on my kitchen shelf and still wiggles sideways when you wind it up (it's missing 2 arms and an eye, but it still makes me smile).

I love all these pictures !*!*!*!*
I don't want to live without good and lovely pictues. I also have a deer with a light in the midst, made from metal by myself. I love to go through the nature and collect flowers. The rose-bush is more than WONFERFUL *!*!*!*!*!

I especially love the first deer picture. What a beautiful animal.
My other favourite is your rose. It is covered with beautiful blooms so I can see why it makes you happy. The first snowdrops in our garden make me happy because I know it won't be long before more colour starts to appear and that's worth celebrating each year.
