Agatha Christie's Marple TV series, Will Mellor, Benedict Cumberbatch

I am watching the TV series that began filming in 2007 and that stars Geraldine McEwan. In season two I enjoyed seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as he was 15 years ago, very young and a dish, but I think he is more handsome now.

Below shows Cumberbatch in the Marple show back in 2007.
In season 3 I watched an episode of Agatha Christie's Marple with Will Mellor in it, I love that actor, star of White Van Man TV series. Photo of Will Mellor below.

I just watched Season 3 Episode 4 and each time I watch the next episode I check to see how many episodes are left for me to watch. There are 6 seasons available to me and that makes me happy.
Do you like to know there are many episodes of favorite TV shows that you have not watched yet? Having episodes ahead to watch makes me feel like my pantry is full. Sometimes I hold off on watching the final episode in a series as I don't want it to end.
I only have a few episodes left of Lie to Me and of Professor T and don't want to watch the last episodes, but will one day. Do you have TV shows you feel that way about?
This morning I will be in Women's Bible Study at church, about 7 of us meet and study the book Discerning the Voice of God: How to Recognize When God Speaks by Priscilla Shirer. She has videos offering further insights for each chapter, and her father is the well known preacher Tony Evans. I am enjoy the study and learning.

We watch some of our favorites over and over again, like Larkrise to Candleford. I liked the old Miss Marple movies too.

Is this the BBC/PBS series? Where do you watch it ... netflix, amazon or somewhere else? I know the feeling of having more episodes of a favorite series left to watch that seems like the pantry us full -- a great analogy!

I do like re-watching certain TV series, and yes, it can be quite comforting to know one has has several seasons to look forward to with some. (Geraldine McEwan was never my favourite version of Miss Marple, though.) I've lately been rewatching (on a Swedish channel) a couple of the later seasons of The Little House on the Prairie, I think they're on season 7 now. Just checked online to see if there are even more and and found that there are "spin-off" seasons 8 and 9 as well, which I don't think I ever saw. Remains to be seen if they're going to show those as well. I have several old favourites on DVD as well, but with more streaming options now I don't get round to watching those as often.

I always check to see how many seasons and episodes in the seasons before I start watching a show. Love good shows! xo Diana

I agree, Cumberbatch is more handsome as he ages. His features have a classy sculpted look.
A series with many seasons are the best. Letting go of wonderful characters adds to the sadness we need less of.

I always liked Miss Marple... and Murder she wrote. And as for not wanting some series to end, yes that does happen. I hate it when something you've been watching for a long time ends. But that's how it is these days. Of course there are some shows that seem to go nowhere... and I could care less if they end (like La Brea or recently The Watcher). We should just stop watching them, but tend to continue when we can't find anything else.

I didn't know Benedict Cumberbatch was in those old Miss Marple shows!

Haven't watched this series.
Yes, I do like to know there are more seasons to a series that I'm watching.
I find mostly though the last season or two I get tired of the show. Seems like the show loses steam after so long. That may be just be though.

I do feel that way. But mostly about British TV series. Their actors are usually memorable and very talented.

My wife and I have numerous series we watch. When the new series comes out we try to watch only one episode every night or two. I want to enjoy the show, not rush through it at warp speed. Once you finish, you usually have to wait another year for the next season. So, why not stretch the current season out a little.

I don't think I have ever seen those series. Dennis and I love to watch Midsummer Murders, but mostly we watch YouTube videos. Some of the makers feel like family to us, we have watched them so long.
Take care.
Blessings,
Betsy

I think Joan Hixson was the best Miss Marple though.

I do love series as well! Most of the Agatha Christie shows were done well, and I also enjoy Doc Marten.

Dear Terra, yes, I felt that way about "Dalton Abbey" and also about several other PBS Masterpiece productions. And I can really remember feeling that way about the book "The Golden Warrior: A novel of the Norman conquest" by Hope Muntz. It was published in England in 1949. On a friend's recommendation, I read it in 1975. When I got toward the end, I stopped reading because I simply couldn't let it end. For two weeks I didn't read any more of the novel. And then finally I did and wept.

In 1977, I got to take a trip with two friends to Holland, England, and France. While in London, I called several agencies to find out where Harold, the last Anglo-Saxon king, was buried. I took a long bus ride there to see the church and the tombstone. The gift shop displayed the book, up front and center, and a woman who worked there knew "Hope" and talked to me about her life. It was a thrilling experience in every way. Peace from Dee Ready

So glad you enjoy this series so much! We don't have access to it, but I have heard good things about it, and I do enjoy Agatha Christie novels.

During a recent chronic illness relapse, I started rewatching Grey's Anatomy, one of MY favorite shows, from the beginning. I agree - it's such a joy to know there are so many more episodes to watch! We're currently watching the new season - #19 - on TV, so I think I will have these old episodes to look forward to for a long time!

Enjoy -

We enjoy English mysteries, with Midsummer Murders and a few others. We have been watching repeats of all sorts of programs.
