Spring Pretties In My Garden and Fluffy and Bounce and a Lady from Ukraine

I am showing a photo of Fluffy first, as she doesn't get as much mention on my blog and that is so unfair. I call this picture "Fluffy in a Box", as the box on the chair is very coveted by her and by Bounce. See photo below, titled "Bounce in a Box", of course.

Some ranunculus and freesias I planted recently, these are photos from the packets. I planted the bulbs, or rhizomes or corms, I  can't recall which name is correct for which plant.

Above is Mr. Gnome, a Christmas gift. He is holding a solar light next to the yellow petunias I planted. Am I in a planting frenzy? Yes, a happy frenzy, and I am planting many seeds too, zinnias, knee high sunflowers, sweet peas, Swiss chard and Chinese edible pod peas.

One more photo and that's it, of cute pansies or violas I bought.

A Woman and Her Children from Ukraine Arrive Here

I am writing this post in advance, on Sunday March 27. I must tell you, at Bible Fellowship today a member told us that money we raised is helping a mom and her children from Ukraine arrive in our town tomorrow. We are looking forward to meeting her. She had to leave her husband in Ukraine because no men age 18 to 60 are allowed to leave. Her husband in Ukraine has 6 displaced people staying in their home with him and they are experiencing food shortages. When this was shared, people were quiet as it made all of us count our blessings. Update: The lady visited our small group (25 people) at church last Sunday, and I was not there. I am sorry to have missed meeting her. People found her a house to live in and all sounds as well as can be expected.

Love seeing your pets and Mr Gnome! Yes, we should all count our blessings that we live in nations at peace.

The stories coming out of Ukraine are heart wrenching! We do what we can.

Wow I'm jealous of how good you are with flowers! I love ranunculus! I am thinking of planting lush tall grasses in my giant poolside pots this year, hoping they will thrive in full sun and last for the whole season. Your gnome is so cute! It's hard to imagine the hardship that the people of Ukraine are experiencing. They need our prayers. xoxo

Fluffy deserves more attention. She's a stunner. And I think it's wonderful you're helping the family in your community. I am hoping ours takes in refugees.

Dear Terra,

best wishes and blessings for the woman from Ukraine, who will arrive here tomorrow. The Lord may shelter her husband and friends in her home full of war and problems - -

The flowers are very nivce, I love them all!

Do you know the sentence of Martin Luther:

And if the world would be destroyed tomorrow, I would plant an appletree today...

Best greetings from the Bavarian Forest from Dori

So sad for that lady to have to leave her husband. Praying for that war to end.

The photos of Bounce and Fluffy made me laugh. Isn't it funny how animals love to fit themselves into small spaces. You certainly are busy with planting. We still are having below freezing temps every few days so it will be awhile before spring planting begins here.
How lovely that you were able to help a family. I feel so bad for the couples who are being separated right now through no decision of their own. Such a wicked world we're living in.
Blessings
Betsy

The box on the chair is adorable. The material must feel warmer and cozier than the plastic. Fluffy and Bounce are precious.

That's a powerful story. Such a tragedy this war. Fluffy looks just like the very last cat that lived with me. His name was Sindbad, so much loved and missed.

Cats in boxes are common, but dogs sure aren’t. Our cat must think she’s a dog because she doesn’t do boxes.

Sweet babies . . . just like kids they seem to prefer a simple box! Spring flowers are blooming here and while we've STILL had snow in recent days . . . it doesn't last long! My heart aches for these families in Ukraine . . . what a joy to be able to help someone in this way and minister to them!

I love Fluffy and Bounce! Those are the cutest pictures. I'm dying to plant too but we may get frost Sunday morning so I'm waiting. I did plant a little row of peas too. How sad that families have to be separated like that. What a mess and so sad.

How funny that even Bounce likes to sit in the box. I just watched a video this morning on the huge ranunculus fields planted every year in CA. Sounds like you will be growing lots of lovely things. It's truly unbelievable what's happening in Ukraine. I just can't comprehend the things humans are capable of doing to others that they surely don't want done to themselves. So many innocent people have to suffer because of the desire for power and greed; so much senseless destruction.

Animals in a box. They certainly seem to like that. The Ukraine situation is going to be far more terrifying and all we can do is help in whatever ways we can.

What a beautiful post and I love the way you reach out to others through your church. Beautiful.....continued prayers for Ukraine......

Beautiful flowers, have fun planting. You need a 2nd chair with a 2nd box. Would be fun to see if they both still want the same box, lol. Best of luck to the Mom and child arriving. Has lodging already been arranged for them? Best of luck to her husband back home. Please keep us posted as you can. Will others be arriving, so she's not solo with no one from home to be with?

Terra, it's so nice to plant flowers and bushes this time of year. I hope your rannunculas make it. That was the first flower I planted in my old garden, and they didn't make it, but they are the prettiest flower. Your gnome is so cute. I also have a thing for gnomes. It looks like your dog and cat are content sitting there on the chair. A simple box can bring such pleasure. Such a horrible time right now in Ukraine. I hope everything works out for the woman you mentioned.

Happy Spring days, Terra.
