My first coffee shop visit in a year, beautiful gardens there

I visited a coffee shop for the first time in a year, and picked a new shop run by volunteers, which is surrounded by gardens and located right along the Pacific Ocean. This was my first time here, and I think it will be my go to coffee shop.

Note the large patio and the wisteria on the left side of the building. The coffee shop opened a year ago, during the pandemic. That is a hopeful act indeed.

The fountain on the patio. There are only four tables on the huge patio so people are widely spaced.

Above are two different sculptures of Joseph; his face in this sculpture is very kind and thoughtful.

This area is dedicated to Joseph as he holds a tiny baby. I understand from reading the plaques that families who lost a baby through miscarriage or abortion visit here for comfort.

I walked and walked and got my steps in, after I enjoyed a large latte at the coffee shop. This is a healthy and beautiful environment, and the outdoor patio offers an ocean breeze and no people squeezed together. I am glad I discovered this shop. I almost went to a national chain store downtown with a tiny patio. In these pandemic days I chose this coffee shop, staffed by volunteers. Anyone else have a favorite coffee shop?

Sweet find! I find the chain coffee shop coffee is bitter, so we opt for more privately owned places whenever possible. It is so nice to be able to get out once again, isn't it? LOVE the statue of Joseph.

What a beautiful way to get back to a coffee shop after so long a time! I can imagine how you must have felt. I've made two Friday morning visits to a local, and much more pedestrian, coffee shop to chat with vaccinated friends here lately, and it has been a great boost to my spirit.

What a wonderful find! Seems perfect... especially in this day and time. And no, I haven't a favorite... and haven't been to a coffee shop in over a year. I would love to find one that is cozy, quaint, and served really good coffee.

I love going to small coffee shops to check out their coffee and the ambiance. One of the most unique one was in Austin, TX that had a side yard that contains "Butters" the small goat you can visit with.

Pandemic or not, what a lovely setting for having coffee! Ours aren't open yet in any meaningful way but I was able to go inside the library today to pick up a book for the first time since the pandemic started. They are still doing curbside pickup too with shorter hours for that though. All these little steps back to our previous lives.

Looks like a great place. I don't go to coffee shops but then there aren't any that are convenient

What a lovely spot! In my location, people are refusing vaccinations and our rate is only 28%. They are not fans of masking or social distancing either. I would love to find a coffee shop like this one!

What a delightful place you discovered with beautiful Wisteria and that pretty fountain. I don't go to coffee shops but if I did that's the kind I'd choose.

What a lovely place to have coffee! I don't know of any place around here like that but I always have an afternoon cup here at home. Enjoy your week!

What a wonderful environment and meaningful purpose. Our go-to coffee shop is privately owned and only a few blocks from our home. Even at the height of COVID they offered drive-through. Hubby and I would go through the drive-thru then park. Then we would sit at the outdoor tables all socially distanced with our purchases, him with a coffee, me with my hot tea.

That is so lovely! And that coffee shop has a beautiful purpose...a very comforting place indeed. Thank you for sharing it with us. It would definitely be a place I would love to visit. I don't go to coffee shops as I don't drink coffee, and around here where I live I haven't really seen any, unless you count Dunkin' Donuts. (not). But I like the concept and if they served tea as well, I would enjoy going there...especially if they have something good to go with it. Thank you for sharing this! I love the wisteria vines too! So fragrant!
