Dog in my cat clubhouse, Teapot with Blue Lights, Peacock , Social Isolation

Above is Bounce tasting the catnip in the clearly signed Cat Clubhouse. He is a rebel and rule breaker, like me. Below is Princess Fluffy enjoying her clubhouse.

Just for fun, here is my new electric teapot. It is glass which I like, glass is so inert, which is healthy to boil water in. The entertaining part of the teapot is its blue lights and how they dance when the water boils.

This photo below shows the teapot when I have just turned it on.

Just some light hearted things from around my home, with the aim of bringing smiles during this difficult time of pandemic.

Here is my blue metal peacock, which my younger son assembled and installed in my garden. Some readers asked to see the peacock when in my garden.

Occasionally I invite a friend to come over and sit on my patio, six feet apart, while we enjoy a coffee. Now that colder weather is on its way, I will miss those outdoor chats. Perhaps we will meet indoors, I have a sitting area in my living room where chairs are 10 feet apart. That is a big decision. How are you handling social isolation? I read today that Florida schools opened a month ago and there is NO SPIKE in virus cases. In particular, no increase in Florida in school age children getting ill, that is good news. New York City has opened its schools to its 500,000 students. This social isolation is hard on children. A family friend is eager to have his children, here in California, return to school; he says they are being damaged by this isolation. These are hard choices for all of us, and especially for parents.

Oh and I am praying for quick and full healing for our President and our First Lady. These are difficult times indeed. Best of health to them both.

Hi Terra! Yes, I'm praying for the president and first lady, too.
I've also been having patio chats and when the weather gets cold, I hope my friends will come inside where it's warm.
Your kitty and pup are so cute! I love the peacock!

I love your blue teapot!

I am eager to go back to church. We have been watching online. The in-person services have all kinds of rules and masks and such. Kinda creepy.

I'm also praying for the President and FL.

I love your “No Dogs Allowed” on your cat house. We all know that saying “no” is such a temptation. It did make me smile, Terra, thank you.

That is a lovely and fun teapot.

Princess Fluffy looks determined to keep her clubhouse dog free. Lovely teapot! It is cheery. The peacock in the garden looks festive.
Staying indoors isn't a problem for me. I pray others will weather the months ahead well without getting sick.

The peacock looks good in your garden!
I have not had any visitors indoors in my home since back in January! Feels like an eternity ago :) I did have friends visiting a couple of times in the summer, but then I packed a basket and we had 'picnic' tea/coffee at a table outdoors "just around the corner" from where I live (there are picnic tables and benches here and there in the park-like area surrounding the apartment blocks where I live).

I love the blue teapot and the peacock! And Bounce is sneaking into the catnip?!?! Hahaha!! Give him a pat from me. ❤

I'm sure the President is going to be fine. He has the best medical care money can buy, after all.

I like your new blue glass teapot. I'll see if I can find any locally and if not then on Amazon.
Social isolation hasn't affected me much because my 'bubble' has all the people I used to see all the time ( not that many).

We had a dog named Bounce as i was growing up. Apparently your Bounce does not read or flaunts the rules. I I like the peacock, also the teapot is intriguing and attractive.

I am praying for our President and wife as well. We should all be praying, this is such a tenuous time for our nation.

Many celebrities are rejoicing--one said "I hope they die".

LOL, Bounce doesn't care what the sign says.
That is a very cool teapot. I've never seen anything like it.
As for social isolation, I live alone and have no friends but I do have work. When I'm not working it does get hard if I don't keep myself busy.

The cat clubhouse is fun!
I like the teapot with the lights and the peacock is pretty.
We are not doing social distancing, people who are sick are staying home. I feel like the repurcusions of this disease are worse than the disease itself.
We're praying for our President and first lady too.

Glad to hear you are well and I love that garden peacock. I teach in Kentucky and we have been back in school since the first of August. We did have to go to virtual instruction after our numbers spiked, but have been back in person for the past two weeks. Students wear masks all day, as do teachers.

Cute peacock. I have a hot water pot but it's not made of glass. It heats water so much faster than the teakettle on the stove. I timed it once. We've had it now going on two years. I don't now why we waited so long.

This dog looks so sweet, smelling into this adventurous place! The cat is very nice with this fine grey hair. Special! I love them both very much!!

Your blue tea-cooker is beautiful!

The glas-bird in your garden ist very decorative, I like it! Do I see a praying Mother Mary in the background?

The pandemie also here in Europe is a big theme and problem. Nobody knows exact what to do. Here they also say, that children should urgently go to school, it's so important for their developement.

Because I spenta lot of time daily at my sheep, I'm a big part of the day outdoor.

Sorry for your president and first Lady being ill with Covid 19! Hope they will be healthy again soon. Its on the first place of our news.

Stay healthy, happy and sheltered! -

We here on Long Island, NY were in isolation for a very long time. We faced-timed a lot. It was and still is very scary. Praying for you and hoping things get better soon. BTW I LOVE that tea pot!!!
Blessings, Joanne

Social isolation must be so much harder for children. I'm pretty content here by myself with my dogs. Your Princess Fluffy looks just like my last cat. His name was Sindbad and we lost him in 2006. We didn't get any more cats after him as it can be dangerous for them up here with the coyotes all around. Hope you are doing well. I love your peacock!

I hope the Trumps recover completely.

Schools are open here and things are going well with the Covid precautions they use. Our grandchildren are delighted to be back in school. Our province has had 61 cases of Covid, all related to travel, all socially isolated when they came home. There hasn’t been any community transmission, no deaths or hospitalizations. We keep to ourselves with the exception of our daughter and our three grandchildren.

Take care.

Here in Michigan winter is long and the cold can start in October or November and go into April. I honestly don't know what to do. I don't like people inmy house or being in enclosed spaces with others anywhere. I'm thinking I may not be seeing people much after the weather turns. And it makes me very sad... and distressed.

Your peacock looks great in the garden, and that kettle is certainly a fun item. Loved the puppy-that-cannot-read as well!
I was sorry to hear President Trump and his wife had caught Covid and hope they will be better soon. Also hope that you will be able to continue meeting up with friends by socially distancing indoors.
Take care and stay safe :)

Sweet creatures you have there.
So you make the tea in the glass teapot!
Here we boil the water then make a pot of tea in a teapot with a handle and a spout..maybe interpretation/American to English..lol

What a fun post today! Love the peacock and your teakettle with the dancing lights! If I had a house, I would be tempted to get one for myself.
In our little trailer we only have Larry and Nita over. They are part of our family bubble since we have no family. Otherwise we aren't around anyone else.
We are praying for President Trump and our beautiful First Lady Melania. Also the others who were also infected in the White House. It sounds as if it is several people. I'm so ready for this virus to be over. Alex, (our youngest son), has had to postpone his wedding twice already. We aren't allowed into the UK and that's where the wedding will be. He doesn't want to get married without us as they both want his Dad to perform the wedding.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Terra - love the peacock ... not too sure about the teapot - but it gives you pleasure and that's the main thing. Great to see the animals ... all the best - Hilary

Oh, I love the pictures of the dog and cat...did the dog eat the catnip? Does it affect him the way it affects a cat? That would be funny. I have the same teapot and I love how it turns blue and the water dances as it boils. I used to burn up teapots on top of the stove by letting them boil dry, so my hubby bought me one of these, which shuts off when it is done boiling. I love it! That peacock is gorgeous! Very colorful and "classy". I do have outdoor space to visit with someone if they come over, but we have also had people indoors and have had no problem. We go out to lunch with people from our church on Sundays after church and we sit together and enjoy fellowship. We've been doing that ever since the restaurants opened back up several months ago. Again, no problem. But we know our group and no one has been traveling or doing anything crazy so we all feel safe...and if someone doesn't feel well, they stay home. We are thankful to be living in North Florida and not in places where things have been so terribly restricted. Yes, we are praying for our President and First Lady and all of their staff who have become infected. May God speed their healing and give them strength to keep going strong.

Love your peacock. And kettle. I would like one like that.

Margaret D. asked in a comment if we make the tea in the glass tea pot. We don't; that is just for getting the water to a boil. I only use loose leaf tea, so put tea in a tea ball or strainer, put the strainer in a cup, and pour the hot water in the cup.

Jeanie in Michigan: Please try not to isolate yourself as it will be bad for your mental health; you are clearly already unhappy at the prospect of not seeing anyone. Is there really not anywhere you can see people or at least can you use something like Skype to keep in touch with people? Sending you a hug from England x

LOVE the kettle! It looks so pretty!

As we head towards cold weather, I wonder the same....what will we do? We don't really get together with people now because of the jobs that my friends are in. Many work in risky places (nurses, teachers, etc.) and I don't really want to be exposed to everyone that they are exposed to. And besides...talk inevitably leads to politics and I'd like to avoid that as much as possible. Right now, we are sort of hermits. BUT...we are okay with that for now knowing that we are safe.

Dear Terra, the kettle is lovely. Like you, I like things made of glass and have several hand-blown glass vases that I got at Renaissance Fairs or at art galleries. They lift my heart, especially when sunlight flows through them.

The isolation is hard and I know that being outside is better than being inside with regard to social distancing, but if you are inside--10 feet apart--and wear your masks as you talk and just remove it when you eat or drink that would be--I'd think--sufficient! But then we keep learning new things about COVID all the time. Peace.

I've never seen a teapot like yours and I love it! Glass is one of my favourite things too, I used to work at Royal Brierley crystal in the West Midlands and acquired some lovely pieces. Great peacock too!

I'm finding isolation very hard too, Terra, not seeing my grandchildren and my daughter is painful and quite depressing even though we speak on the phone several times a week. I really miss comforting hugs and the lovely smell of them; of clean hair and perfume...isnt that weird....

Stay safe and thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog post x

Hi Terra! You have the prettiest tea kettle I've ever seen! Love the bright blue color... and I've never seen anything like it. I always make tea by the cup in the microwave but I've thought of getting an electric one ... maybe this winter I'll find one.
Your peacock is beautiful too... I think it's so fun to walk around a garden and find an unexpected lovely surprise like that. It's some of my favorite things of gardening!
Sounds nice to have a patio place for visiting. It sounds like you've been very careful and I so respect that. You would shocked I think how in my neck of the woods people act like there is no pandemic unless at walmart then most people have on a mask. Guess that's why arkansas had more than a 1000 covids yesterday again. Stay safe friend.... and cheers to teatime!

Terra, that's a cool tea pot. I've never seen one like that before. And your peacock in the garden is delightful. It's so sad what the children are going through at school. I'd prefer my grandkids to be home right now rather than school though. I think it's safer for all. How funny that your dog goes into the cat house and gets some food haha.

Happy October days, Terra.
