Our new Christmas Angel is Flying Our Way

Our new Christmas Angel above is flying our way. Isn't she lovely?
I ordered her today online.
I am sad to retire our 20 year old angel but I noticed scorch marks around her lights, so it sounds dangerous. I will keep her and display her but not plugged in. Quite a few of you blog friends have commented on her being retired, and I realized, I am retired too. Now she (we) can sit back and enjoy the season.
Here is our graceful older angel below.
Lane brought over our beautiful tree. He went to three Christmas tree sales places, then went back to the second one and made the purchase. He also used a kit and made an ornament with Bounce's footprints on it.
The first two ornaments I put on the tree were Bounce's above and one that Colt gave me in church yesterday. His neighbor is short on money so sold ornaments she paints and he bought five. They are very pretty. He also bought one and gave it to my friend Carole in church. That was the first time he met her. The one I chose, below, has a cute whiskered gnome and a mushroom on it.

Our new Christmas angel arrived 3 days after I ordered her so today she is at home on the top of our tree. This Sunday Dec. 15 we will have a Christmas party at church with a white elephant gift exchange. You do NOT buy a gift, but bring something from your house that you don't want and wrap it up to exchange. I think then after you open your gift anyone can claim it. It sounds entertaining and I will let you know how it goes. Plus everyone brings food to share, I am buying a fruit tart to bring. The party will be after the first service, in our Bible study group, usually 20 people show up, but lots more might come for this gathering.
I am excited about this holy season and church is a great preparation for it, full of lights and joy. I hope your December is a good one.

Your new angel is beautiful, Terra. I love the gold. And the hand painted ornaments are special and such a treasure. I like this one with the gnome. Bounce's paw prints are really cute on the other ornament too.

Enjoy this wonderful Christmas season.

Your new angel is very elegant! But, I feel sad that the old has to retire. We get so attached to things, don't we? Just time to start a new tradition. Have a wonderful week.

The new angel is very lovely but so is the old one. I'm glad you're not getting rid of her, just finding a new spot maybe.

The new angel is very pretty. The old angel will be nice to display elsewhere. The paw print memory ornament is precious and the hand-painted ornament is unique and colorful. Blessings to you this Christmas! xo

Your new angel is beautiful. And the fact you can still display the old one is a plus. I am into Christmas gnomes this year and so love that painted ornament. I wish I lived near you. I would buy a bunch of them.

I love your new angel. Maybe you could set your lovely, old angel over a battery operated candle and set her on a table somewhere. Just a thought. Enjoy this wonderful Christmas season ~ FlowerLady

I am always sad to retire well-loved Christmas decorations. I put some out yesterday, but left a lot in the box. You can only have room for so much, you know? I felt guilty leaving some of them in the box--isn't that silly? I'm glad you kept your retired angel. Now she can rest and enjoy the holidays while someone else does the work. :)

Glad you will keep your old angel for decoration elsewhere because she is very pretty, too. The new one is gorgeous. Cute hand painted ornament and nice idea for them to make some extra money. :)

What a beautiful Christmas angel. I'm curious how you plug it in. The one I have has wires under the gown and they need to be attached to something. I've never attached them so she just sits wherever I perch her. This year I put some battery operated lights in a glass vase and I perched her there so at least she will light up.

I have never seen an angel tree topper I didn't love, but yours is especially beautiful. And the ornament for Bounce--so special!

Happy Holidays to you, Terra!

Beautiful golden new angel. Many moons ago rats had chewed our original Angel while it was in storage. We have replaced it but have decided to make over the angel to represent our heritage a little more and have currently put on a Christmas star. I love the vibe of your new ornament.

Oh I love both your angels! Nice you will still have the original one. The ornaments are lovely. We have all of ours up and I never tire of looking at them. Lots of memories. 🎄 Happy Season! Kit

I like the Bounce ornament - I usually am a bog fan of these more personal ornament. The painted one is pretty too - there is something special about handmade ornaments. I have knitted bird and cat ornaments this year and especially the cats are flying out my shop.

Your new angel is so lovely! I hope she is happy on top of your tree. I know she will bless your home with heavenly music. I also had to "retire" our angel tree topper. She is just too big for our tree in our new home, which has a lower ceiling, and her head was touching the ceiling. Plus, her under skirt was cracking (plastic) and she was looking a bit worn out. So I got a star for now, but I am looking for just the right size angel to take her place maybe next year. I love your ornaments! And the gift exchange...we call that a "White Elephant" gift exchange and we do that every year here after Christmas with our extended family. That way no one has to buy more gifts and you can get rid of that "ugly Christmas sweater" if you want to. It is a lot of fun. I hope you get something really neat. We usually make sure there are a couple of really nice gifts in the mix so people will be wanting to "steal" them away from the others...I know it sounds awful, but it is a lot of fun. Have a wonderful Christmas. God bless you!

She is lovely and I hope that she gives you as much if not more joy as the older one gave you for twenty years. I also wish you a very happy festive season.

PS. In case you are wondering, I am Rummuser.

I love a white elephant exchange. My daughter participated in one at school and brought home 2 ceramic snowmen that I get out every January. They are cute!

Hi Terra! Oh, your new Christmas angel is beautiful! I had one very similar to your old one that we used when our children were little and I gave it to my daughter when she had children and now she uses it on her tree. It's getting close to 40 years old! How nice to buy the hand painted ornies from the little lady at church! Thank you so much for your visit and I wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
