Have you seen this video of a baby hippo who lives as part of a family in South Africa?
She was adopted by a park ranger when she was found after a flood at the age of one day old. She spends time in their house and also with wild hippos that live nearby.
This video is So Cute!, the hippo is now 7 years old, broke a sofa and a bed in their house, and so now is limited to the kitchen and the porch. The hippo is free to leave at any time.

Animals are so precious, aren't they?
I have in my heart a desire to protect the wild animals of Africa, and am a long time member of African Wildlife Foundation, which does great work to protect these beautiful animals, especially the gorillas, elephants, lions and hippos. It only costs $20 to join http://awf.org hint, hint

Dear Terra, Anything which highlights the plight of so many wild animals throughout the world is to be commended. We all, I believe, have a duty to work towards protecting endangered species and ensuring a habitat in which each one may live and thrive.
Have a happy and peaceful weekend.
That was as sweet as can be. It is amazing how animals can be given some love in their lives.
Thanks for posting the link.
Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady
That was remarkable. I can't believe the dogs get on so well with the hippo, too. Although, I did feel bad for the pup that got stepped on. ;)
Terra, this is wonderful!
Have a lovely weekend.

I enjoyed watching the video!
This is such a beautiful relationship that this family has established with this baby hippo. I know I would be doing much of the same thing if I had rescued one as well.
Love her cuddled up in the blanket next to the dog. Priceless.

That was so lovely...I just watched the video with my son. Animals are so extraordinary...it is amazing how she comes back even after visiting the wild hippos.
Just needed to touch bases and tell you how much I enjoyed the book you sent. What a deceptively simple, yet deep read. I LOVED it.
Thank you dear,
