Today I found this small guide book from castles we visited in Wales years ago. We rented a brand new VW camper van with a pop up so you can stand up in it and traveled to visit many castles in Wales. Each one has a romantic and historic appeal. Caernarvon Castle is stunning. We also visited Beaumaris Castle, Harlech Castle and Conwy Castle. In England we enjoyed Berkeley Castle and Tintagel ruins, very dramatic.
We also rented a space for the van on a sheep farm in Wales, that was a beautiful location. We camped across the road from Stonehenge and saw the sun set and rise there. That was decades ago, it may be more controlled access now. Another don't miss place to visit.

We have some glorious castles, especially in Wales.
I remember my visit to Great Britain like it was yesterday, although it was back in 1976, It was for a class studying British literature, and we got to see Stonehenge, too. Magnificent! Oh, and your memes are so cute. God bless!
That looks like an amazing trip! I'd love to see those castles and never knew that renting a camper was a possibility in Europe.
I envy you visiting those castles! What wonderful memories! The funnies are good ones. I recently saw a meme that you'll appreciate: The only squat I'm doing it diddly!! Haha.
Dear Terra, the castle images are gorgeous. The funnies 😂 are hilarious 😂 Thank you 😊 🙏 so much for sharing ❤️
That last meme is so funny
We loved Wales and Stonehenge. Both were well worth a visit.
We only got as far as Cardiff (which is wonderful) but you saw some amazing ones. I'd love that oyou parked on a sheep farm. I'd love that!
LOL, both of those are too funny.
From our family holidays in Britain back in my teens (early 70s) I too remember Caernarvon and and Conwy, and also Tintagel and Stonehenge - and several more famous places :)
How awesome you were able to to see those beautiful castles!!!
Hello Terra: I have kept brochures from our past vacations, I love taking them out and looking at them, thank-you for sharing with us. Would love to visit Stonehenge someday.
Catherine
Your trip sounds fabulous. We went to Ireland and the Scottish isles this spring, but we were on tours, so our time wasn't ours. (Still, the trips were great.) We ran into a few folks who had rented small motor homes. It sounded like so much fun! Your puzzle meme cracked me up!
Darling Terra,
Thank you so very much for keeping us in your blogroll and for leaving such a kind comment. This visit must have brought back many happy memories for you. Indeed, it also brings back memories for us when we lived in Herefordshire and often made forays into Wales. It is so good to be reconnected and back in the lands of our Blog chums.
I think, you were a wonderful young woman making amazing and fine journeys in the freedom of faith. Today times changed and rules somehow are too much controlling people.
Many greetings and blessings to you from Dori from the Bavarian Forest.
Really cute memes. I like the puzzle one! haha
Hi Terra! My first time leaving a comment, I think. I can only try to imagine how rich is the experience of visiting castles. What rich history. It sounds wonderful.
I really love the jigsaw puzzle comment. Thank you.
God bless always.
I would love to visit some castles, doubt it will happen
those funnies made me smile!!
We have some formidable forts. Funny funnies!
OH thank you so much for coming over to me again! I remember you and it was a smile maker to see you visit. I do the Genealogy thing and most of my ancestors are from all of GB. Wales included. GB was the one place we didn't get to the entire time we lived in Europe...several years.
And I LOVED those funnies! I don't ordinarily favor that one eyed character but this time, I laughed! That too was a good 'un.
When I was in Wales last year, I visit Conwy Castle. A beautiful place.
In England, there are so many castles and abbeys and cathedrals we have visited. I love all the history.
I am glad your dog is recovering.
