Quotes and Pictures to Share

I gather funny and serious quotes and pictures to share. Here goes.

Above is me, frazzled, after reading the news, and seeing our country's push in a bad direction. Protests turning violent, President pushed off of social media, mass out of control illegal immigration, threats to free speech, ignoring God, the list is long.

A humorous take on Covid above.

The above makes me smile!

I am in a Zoom group for 8 local ladies over 55 who are encouraging each other in this time of pandemic. We had never met each other before joining the group; I heard about it in a tiny mention in the newspaper. One tip I shared with the gals is that sometimes my To Do lists get overwhelming so I write in JOY on the list. Remember to take a half hour or so each day to relax, or the new word I like, chillax. Below is a sample of a To Do list of mine. Do you see that I wrote a reminder to Brush Bounce's teeth? Yes, who knew I would brush my dear pup's teeth each night? He is a sweetie and well worth it. Remember to Chillax each day.

And remember to write JOY on your day's activities when you can.

I know how you feel. I never thought this would be my retirement. I will never ever forget the events of January 6, 2021.

I can relate to that frazzled look :-) I actually had to completely avoid all news for about 6 weeks - then began only letting short excerpts in. Much healthier. My question when I listen is "Is this something I can do something about?" If no, it's just adding stress & I shut it off.
Joy is good!

Oh Terra I laughed out loud at "fix cat club house" ... haaahahaha! I would enjoy helping with that. And brush Bounce's teeth ... so sweet. Yes the past fourteen months have been an exercise in faith, that is for sure. Perhaps I am too judgmental (ya think?) but probably what has distressed me the most is witnessing Christian people live in fear rather THAN in faith. I know we all have our own take on this subject, based on our own personal beliefs and experiences, and I also know that there is a God and I am not Him, but all the same, many things that were done (especially in churches) -- and in some cases are STILL being done -- were not and are not consistent with walking by faith and not by sight. The date of my death is fixed! I cannot change it and whether soon or late, I (by faith) know my final destination and am confident that He will be with me to the end, and beyond. He is in control of the very breath in my nostrils. He knows the number of hairs on my head. His grace is sufficient for me, His mercies are new every morning. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. It's way past time to step up and claim those promises again. As for chillaxing, I am pretty good at that. Some would say I'm the queen of it, haaahaahaa! Have a great day xoxo

Your Zoom group sounds so enJOYable, Terra!
I'm a compulsive list-maker, so you bet I'm going to be incorporating this bit of whimsy. Thanks for the inspiration!

I did not write to do lists or weigh myself this past year. hahaha! I tried to concentrate on what was important, get out in nature some every day and eat healthy. I haven't gained weight so I may just keep it up! And I've gotten quite a bit done by not shopping and running errands as much. Love your quotes today. Hugs!

Wearing a mask when going inside the bank is still an odd sensation. I'm pretty used to wearing one everywhere else and don't mind doing it. I've no more fear of getting Covid than the next guy... but I do believe we should do what we can to protect ourselves and others... and it's such an easy thing.
And yes, I have a daily 'to do' list which I keep on my phone and x it off as done... (or move it to the next day).

I think that frazzled look was me today. I was glad when the day was finally over

I love reading other people's to do lists. Yours is much more interesting than mine.
(I also like reading random grocery lists that I find from time to time on the supermarket parking lot. Guess I'm just a curious person).

This post is just what I needed tonight - starting with the DL Moody quote. I'm still off work because of covid and am feeling very overwhelmed about what I need to do when I go back. This is a good reminder to do what I can do and let God handle the rest! Thank you!

Oh my this is all so true!! My hubby went to Moody Bible Institute so always have a fondness for D.L! We all need to laugh more so love the fun quotes (that bank one!!) I sometimes feel a bit guilty when I just sit and 'ponder' but it is quite necessary in the midst of our chaotic world. Time spent reflecting on all of the JOY we have . . . quiet time with Jesus and reflecting on all we are blessed with . . . are so helpful to me. Now I'm gonna go and do a little 'chillax-ing' of my own!!

What would we have done without Zoom!?!

This last year has been a doozy hasn't it? I have been out and about since being vaccinated and I feel much better for it. I'm trying my best to trust the Lord and let Him take care of me and my family. We're supposed to be flying to London for a wedding in July. Now that DOES make me a bit nervous but I'm already praying about it.
Love your list. It made me smile a HUGE smile. Thank you for that.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

I love-love-love the idea of adding "joy" to your to-do list, Terra! The pictures and sayings you posted are keepers too. Yes, I agree with you about the state of our country. To be honest I hardly recognize it anymore. I'm glad there's more years behind me than ahead of me! ~Andrea XOXOXO

The group is a great idea. I can see how one would miss that group, even though you haven’t met.

These quotes are true, The qoute with the mask in te bank makes me a BIG smile :)

I love the first sentence very much.

Let's hope, that our countries do not go into bad situations. It looks grave. Feeling and sensivity and empathy is every day on my list. And JOY is the will of the Lord! A friend of me has a quote for this year of St.Gabierl Posetti. He said: "My life is an absolute joy." - -

Great list and quotes. You asked about Beulah, my dog. Her Mom is a lab/poodle mix and her dad is a retriever/poodle mix. The breeders call her a Double Doodle :) She's 7 months old today and a sweetie pie.

To have joy is to glorify God.

"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand." (Psalm 16:11)

Blessings to you, Terra!

Hi Terra, thank you for sharing these joys!
I have a big smile and laugh of loud reading and looking at your post.
I understand about your frazzling look.

I love your quotes! I understand the frazzled part, especially with the news barrage. I too, tend to just try to shut the noise out, and concentrate on the important things in my life, relationships. I have also been spending a lot of time in my garden since it is springtime, a wonderful time of year! I love your JOY list... indeed, we must take time to do things that bring us joy :) Many blessings to you Terra!

I love blogging because I can quiet my mind more here. I agree with you, a sadness has enveloped our country. I spend time reading, praying, working in my yard, when it is not 90 plus degrees. I hope you have many new blessings this week. I sure think you have a good support group on line. Take care.

Your Zoom group with the ladies sounds wonderful. There is so much chaos going on in the world. When I moved to the mountains, I did not set up cable, cause I was tired of watching news and negative stuff. I miss my regular shows and am thinking of getting cable again, but this 5 months free from tv was much needed and a good change. The first quote was a good one. And the "age" quote is awesome. : )
