Dragon and Hearts in a Tree

My neighbor's dragon. It is gorgeous and the head is about 5 feet across. I think it is chomping on some plants. Below is another discovery on my walk with Bounce; two hearts in a tree. The tree was recently pruned and the pruning yielded these amazing hearts with a reddish color.

I think I should title this post Dragon Hearts. That sounds like a fantasy novel I might read.

The fires in my county and the neighboring county are 54 percent contained, which is good news. However, much of California is having a heat wave starting Sunday Sept. 6, and our state is very dry. Good news is that two of my best friends are allowed back home after their evacuation and their homes are safe and sound. Our God is Mighty to Save.

I have been happily attending church outside on recent Sundays, we are all required to wear masks. One recent Sunday we did not have church at church because we were caring for 50 evacuees, from the area fires. They slept at our church, we fed them, etc. so church was online only one Sunday. Now many/most evacuees are home, thank goodness.

California is in my prayers. So much devastation and people evacuating...and the media is so silent.

What a fun surprise to find the hearts in the trees! It's nice to find some fun things on your walks, isn't it?

Scary with all those fires in California! Glad you're ok so far and I hope the new heat wave won't last long. Here the weather is turning more autumn-like now, even if still with a hint of summer lingering. Not really cold, but not hot either, and rain showers on and off. Last night we had thunder and lightning in the middle of the night, it woke me up...

I'm glad things are a bit better for the fire evacuees in your area. We still have fires burning here too and today we have 50 mph winds. That's no help at all.
Those hearts are fabulous and the dragon is quite scary too.
Take care and stay safe.
Blessings,
Betsy

The fires are very intense. I thought it would be super hot today, but I am actually chilly after swimming in the lake. That was kind of you to help those who were evacuated.

Those heart are so precious. And they were not intentionally made? Another of nature's wonders. The fires are moving closer to us know, it's very smoky outside. So I'm staying inside, reading blogs and writing one of my own.

The dragon is impressive. Those 2 hearts are quite amazing, formed by nature and only exposed after the tree limbs were cut off.

Dear Terra! Thanks goodness you and your friends are safe! I heard here in Bavaria the news about these dangerous fires in your region. God shelter and bless you and your friends and your country!

Church can give us a good energy and a strong trusting in God's best shelter and way for us.

A blessing, that you helped all the people, who were back from the fire-region.!

The dragon looks phantastic. The name combined with the heart in the cut of te tree ist really like a fantasy-story :)

Many greetings from the Bavarian Forest from Dori. Stay safe and healthy!

Those are very cool finds!
I'm glad the fires are subsiding. It was a good thing for your church to give people a place of refuge.

Glad you are safe. We have had some news coverage of your fires and they look horrendous with all the damage that they have caused.
It must have been fun to discover those 'dragon hearts' :)

The smoke has reached us. I cannot imagine how bad it must be there. My city is invisible at the moment from every mountain and my breathing is difficult. Our temps are dropping 10-20 degrees as the sun rays cannot get thru. Praying for all of you. That some idiot started the one friday with pyrotechnics at a reveal party!! His child has some legacy huh? Stay safe

You have huge dragon Hearts - the news of your fires have made the news here, I am glad many of the Evacuees are able to return. I was home this January with the devasting bush fires in Australia. It's been a horrible year for bush fires as well as everything else.
Here's to a happy week ahead.

We don’t hear much about the California fires now. It must be such a relief for people to be able to return home and everything be untouched.

Dear me, 54% doesn't sound very safe to me. I hope you get some rain soon. We don't have to worry about wild fires in Scotland...

Stay safe.

How wonderful that your church and community have been spared, and that you were able to care for those who had to evacuate. So wonderful to have a safe haven to escape to. Love the tree hearts and the dragon too. It's fun to notice these things when we walk about our neighborhoods. Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe.

I hope you continue to be safe from the fires there, Terra. There has been so much destruction already.

I love the hearts that showed up when the tree was pruned.
