What Bounce and I are doing in September

Do you see Bounce's feet in his new snuggly bed?
I need help; Bounce is chewing up and tearing up his new bed. Do you have suggestions for a new stronger bed for him? I saw K-9 Ballistics and Chew Guard Beds, have you used them or other beds?
Above photo is to show me in one of my many hats, since I mention wearing hats in this post. This was taken in April 2017 with two of my sweet friends, Terry and Wei, celebrating my birthday on the patio of a favorite restaurant.
                                               SEPTEMBER FUN
On another note I realize that September is offering me quite a few events to attend. My church is starting a new group this month, with a luncheon for widows. This is a group no one wants to be in, being a widow, but I am excited to meet some people in the same sometimes leaky boat. These are people I can be honest with and tell them I am sad, which I sometimes/often am.
I signed up to go to a luncheon which is a benefit for a local group that takes seniors who are home bound out to lunch and to events. We can wear fun hats to the lunch, which I like. I am a hat lady. They protect our skin from the sun and I have quite an array of pretty ones.
Bible study is starting again once a week and this session is 10 weeks of reading the Psalms and the book we will use, "Discovering Hope in the Psalms" has pages to color in it. I have crayons and pencils at the ready.
The Senior Follies is this month too, and I have gone about 5 years in a row. Two of my friends sing and dance in it and they are very talented.
Oh, and the local Greek festival at their church on September 7-9, I love the food and music. Plus across the street is a book sale to benefit the public library. How convenient is that? Food and music and words to feed the mind, body and soul.
Is your September busy too?

Does Bounce need a blanket in his bed that he can chew on? The dog we used to dog-sit liked to chew on his blankie, so I don't think that is odd that Bounce does it too. If he has a blankie, he may leave his bed alone.

I am glad that you have a support group to talk about widowhood. I think that will help immensely to have others to share with.

Oh my goodness. It does sound is there you have a busy month coming up. I’m glad you have all these activities to keep you busy. I can’t even imagine the sadness that you feel so often. I know I would be lost without my Dennis. If I were closer I would love to hang out with you. I find myself often the position of wanting to help people and wanting to be there for them, but not knowing quite what to say because I’ve never experienced what they are going through. Maybe it is the same with some of your friends. Anyway, I think it will be good to be with a group of other widows.
Your new Bible study sounds very interesting. As for belts. I have absolutely no advice. Chloe has never chewed anything. I think that was a benefit of adopting her when she was two years old, she was past the chewing stage. Ha!
Many blessings, Betsy

Perhaps Bounce (he looks so cute) will get his bed just like he wants it and will leave it alone then.

We've had a terrible time with George chewing up beds. I've never heard of the two brands you mention; maybe they would work for George now that he doesn't chew quite as much. I wish I had good advice to offer with Bounce.

It sounds like a busy Setpember but that is a good thing, I think! I'm spending mine doing two things -- finishing home stuff on the cottage and getting our itinerary and act together to go to England next month. And I can't wait!

Oh my gosh! That bed is so cute. He must really love it.

I love your hat and it matches your top perfectly. I would love to wear more hats but it is hard to find them to fit my head properly. I'm so glad you're finding a lot to do this month. I had such a busy summer that I'm hoping to slow down a bit this month but not too slow. I've signed up for a short creative writing class and have many appointments booked already.Happy weekend.

I love hats, too ... on other people! I would love to wear them but they drive me nuts on my head and I just can't get used to wearing them. Anyway, you look very nice in yours. Those are some wonderful events you have to look forward to and such a variety of activities. I can see why you look forward to the group for widows. It's very comforting to be with others going through the same thing. I hope you will enjoy it. The only thing we have planned for September is a birthday trip to an island in North Carolina ... IF the hurricane doesn't blow away our Airbnb!

Hello Terra, super photos and you look very pretty in your lovely hat. I have a friend in a widow's group and she says the same thing. I wish I was closer to give you a big hug like I can my friend.

Sorry, forgot to say I don't have a dog any more and have no idea. We used to get a lot of chewed up stuff back in the day.

I have two dogs and they only remove the stuffing from one of their beds. I think they do it for entertainment, but I don't like it! lol I don't have any suggestions as it is a problem I have myself.

You look cute in your hat, Terra. What a sweet picture with your friends. I'm so glad you're going to the Greek Festival. I think you will enjoy it very much. It's so lively, good food, and Yummy desserts. I do hope you will do a post about it later. : )

Hi Terra!

I feel I'm commenting to a new Terra! I don't think I've ever seen a picture of you and for some reason, I thought you were about fifty years old. No...you are a bit older, and so very, very, pretty and poised! I love your hat!

My daughter has a beast of a dog who chewed his dog bed and any blankets she would give him. Finally she simply left him with the mess. After a week or so she gave him a new bed with a few shreds of the old. He did nibble a bit on the new bed, but not to pieces. He seems to feel its just perfect now!!! Bounce is precious! And that name...

I love the old joke, "I wouldn't want to be a member of any club who would have me!" I think it was someone going far back like W.C. Fields. Anyway, I think groups are a great way to explore new people and new things in life, yet I admit, I'm much to try to forge ahead on that!. If there is something you can't give, there is always something you can take. And maybe, both ways! I know that there are many young and middle age widows in this world, and it could be a wonderful bonding experience amongst everyone. What's to lose? :)

Sending love, and I'm so happy to now "see" you in my head! lol!

I LOVE your hat, and that you actually wear your hats in public. I love hats, but am too self conscious to wear them, which makes me sad. I would love to be a bit freer to do these things, but again, I don't want to call attention to myself. But you make it look so wonderful, and I am proud of you for wearing them. I am also happy to hear that you are joining that group at your church. I think that will be very beneficial for you, and I am sure you will be a blessing to the other ladies who need YOU as much as you need them. Praying it will be very meaningful and a positive and sweet time for you. Can't help you with the doggy bed situation. Don't know much about that.
Have a blessed September. My favorite month...my birthmonth!!

I am over from somebody's blog and like your comment. So I popped over.

You have filled your life with some meaningful things. I follow "Friko's World" who was not too long ago.

Good writing.

The hat suits you very well ! I think it's very good to join a group of widows or even women living alone. Our city does a lot for seniors and they are mostly widows. There is nothing done to my knowledge from a church in Belgium or Europe.

Oh Terra, sounds like you have a very busy month! Love the photo. All look happy! September is my birthday month and it is quite busy around here, too! It's good to be busy, right? I know you still miss your forever love and, I suspect, you always will. My hubs is still with me and is a lot older than me. He is 84. Just the thought of his leaving and going to the other side is horrible to me but I know it may happen. Or I could go first, really. One never knows. But I think your keeping busy is a good thing. Terra, thank you SO MUCH for visiting my blog and for commenting, too. You are a sweetheart. Hope you have a lovely Saturday (Sept. 15). Susan

At first, while looking at the first picture, I was like, "What exactly is a "Bounce" so I know what kind of feet to look for?" I totally looked over them, by them way! LOL! My beagle has a tendency to destroy her beds from time to time, too. When that happens, she gets demoted to a blanket. Hope you find something you dong won't chew on.

Wow! You have a busy month ahead! no, wait, nearly over! Gosh, where does the time go?

And I don't believe a bed has been made that is dog proof, sorry.

I love Bounce's bed, looks so safe and snuggly. If he doesn't chew your regular furniture then perhaps, as others have suggested, he needs a toy/blankie/chewy to nuzzle on?

Just wanted to say hello :)
