Below is a favorite poem, not from the neighbor's posting, but one I like. Today would have been my husband Will's 71st birthday and I am thinking of him and how his candle glowed amidst the winds of life.
CANDLE AGAINST THE WIND
I know that I have life
only insofar as I have love.
I have not love
except it comes from Thee.
Help me, please, to carry
this candle against the Wind.

Isn't that just how we feel sometimes....Like we are a fragile candle flame battlling against the strong winds of life. What a great idea to have 'poetry holder' in your yard.
That is a beautiful poem. So true also. That is a great idea to have a poem holder. I've never seen anything like that.
What a lovely idea to do with the poems to share for others to read.
I love that poem you posted.
May your day be filled with lots of happy memories filled with love for your dear husband and all of the birthdays you celebrated together.
Love, hugs & prayers ~ FlowerLady
Oh, I like that poem too! And the poem holder...what a great idea.
Here is to your husband and honoring him on what would have been his birthday.
Beautiful poem. I have been to where my husband's ashes are scattered today just to have a chat to him. We need to keep in contact.
Beautiful poem. And the poem holder is such a great idea. I am sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine. I will be praying for you today my friend. Blessings, Betsy
Never seen a sign like that at a private house before - nice idea. Anniversaries of various kind are always hard, aren't they (when you rather recently lost someone, I mean). ♥
Lovely poem and such a wonderful idea your neighbor has. Nice to share with the world informally like that.
A beautiful poem. I love the idea of a poem holder.
I LOVE this idea! And how fun to change out the poem from season to season.
lovely poem so sorry you are missing him.

What a lovely poem! Take care of yourself today.
Sorry Terra, This must be a sad day for you. Love, M
This is such a touching post. I love the idea of a poem holder. Question: Is for anyone to add a poem, or just your neighbor? I'm thinking of those boxes people have to add/take a book. I love the poem. Candles do represent the human faith and resilience.
Happy Birthday to Will, in heaven. And best wishes to you and how you have bravely and gracefully lived past this incredible loss.

What a beautiful poem. And a poetry holder for the yard. How clever! I would have never thought of such a thing!
You must have had a beautiful marriage......
The poem is beautiful, Terra and I love the idea of a poem holder.
What a wonderful idea! How great to post something like that where walkers can pass by and pause for some encouragement. Who knows where that can lead, what good it can do? Thanks for sharing this idea with us, Terra (and thinking of you today)! Blessings, Debra
That is such a great idea... I do love that poem...
My love and prayers are with you --as you re-live all of the memories you had with your husband on his birthday ... Keep those memories alive FOREVER.
Hugs,
Betsy
What a charming idea! Kind of reminds me of the little libraries.
I have never heard of a poetry holder before, Terra. What a great idea of your neighbor's. That's nice that you go on walks with Bounce. Happy Birthday to your dear husband. I know you miss him so much.
love, ~Sheri
A lovely poem and a beautiful way to remember him on this day.
I like the idea of the poem holder.
Praying for you this evening, I know you have good memories of Will and miss him dearly.
What a neat idea! I see where some people have little library boxes in their yard and this is a fun addition to that idea. Love the poem, too. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I love the poem for your husband's birthday. Happy Heavenly Birthday to him. What a beautiful way to remember him. And I do love the idea of the poetry frame on the lawn where passersby can see it. That is a unique and beautiful way to make someone's day! Thank you for sharing it with us.
A poignant verse, thank you.
this is so nice Terra. I love that idea about the poems.
Your neighbor is a genius to share poetry in that way, very cool idea.
And I like the poem you reference to honor your husband. It's lovely.
What a beautiful idea. I love the poem, a sweet way to remember those passed.
What a lovely idea! The poem for your husband is lovely.
What a great idea, to have a poem among the flowers. Being me, I am wondering how he keeps things dry from dampness and rain.
You clearly live in a literary neighbourhood! Cheers from Carole's Chatter
