The winner from the 21 people who commented for a chance to win a hardcover copy of "Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts" is Pat at Mille Fiori Favoriti
I used random.org to choose the winner.
Cathy will announce the winner of the second copy on our other blog at Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts.
Here is a gigantic and monumental hedge growing on a street near our house. You can not see what is behind it, but once in a while they leave the gate tantalizingly open. I think the hedge is 3 stories tall, and across the street are 6 houses, so it is about 600 feet long. Maybe 20 feet thick.
It is so mysterious to imagine living there in privacy.
The owners must make a huge effort to keep it so nicely trimmed. I imagine it is very quiet and country like sheltered behind the handsome hedge.

That is quite the hedge! I love to spend time imagining what it is like on the other side. :)
Congratulations to Pat! An awesome giveaway you had!
Wow - that is really cool!
Hi Terra - the hedge is incredible isn't it .. and imagine how much life is inside it, let alone beyond those green barriers ..
Congratulations on your Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts and to Pat for winning it .. cheers Hilary
Hi Terra! Wow! That is an AMAZING hedge!
That's the weirdest thing I've seen in a long time. Don't they have city or county regulations about the height of hedges in your area?
WOW that is some huge hedge. I've never seen anything like it.
Interesting, massive hedge. It takes up much of the sidewalk, which might not be allowed around here because sidewalks have to be easily passable.
That is the biggest hedge I have ever seen... It is beautiful. I cant imagine the upkeep on something like that. Thanks for sharing.
Never have seen a hedge this large. Wow! That is all I can say.
I hope they pay the gardener well.
Thank you so much, Terra! I am thrilled to win a copy of your book and will happily share it with my family. I was busy all weekend decorating my Christmas tree--I love this time of the year!
These hedges are amazing! They look like green candy canes :)
Wow that hedge is amazing! We live not too far from Powis Castle in Wales and they have some pretty spectacular and very, very old hedges there too.
Congratulations to the book winner♥ and that hedge must have an amazing story behind it...I would love to take a peek.
WoW, what a beauty, I would love to get a peak behind it!!

Oh my gosh, that hedge is huge! I am wondering, is it on one person's house, or many? It is so green and groomed. Things like this are interesting. So glad you took a picture of it.
Have a blessed week, Terra.
love,
~Sheri

Those hedges require a lot of work, someone must have a lot of time on their hands!!! They are impressive though until a section dies then its all bad news!!
