In Christ Alone wonderful hymn

Some lyrics from one of my favorite hymns "In Christ Alone", written by Keith Getty (Northern Ireland) and Stuart Townend (England).
I am posting this with love for Judy.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

I love the old hymns. They tell a story of faith. Most of the newer music we have doesn't do that although I have heard a few that touch those depths of the soul. Nice post.

I haven't heard that one Terra. I love the old hymn Softly and Tenderly Jesus is calling... A lady sang it a capella in Trip To Bountiful and it has haunted me ever since.

I've just listened to this in the car. It is one of the most beautiful I know, and we play it the most often of any on our playlists.

Lovely Hymn....sometimes I read Hymns as poetry to the Lord...so many people just sing and do not understand what they are singing.

Terra, one of my very favorite songs! There are a handful of wonderful new praise songs which we sing regularly in our church - along with some of the great old hymns of faith. Thank you for putting this in my mind this morning! (P.S. I'm your newest follower via GFC and Feedly) :-)

Beautiful lyrics and my sentiments exactly! I read your previous post and I too LOVE Downton Abbey and thank you for the Cazalet recommendation. I'm going to look for the books. The Game also sounds like a great series about Sherlock Holmes and his wife. Thank you!!! P.S. I'm finally "following" you. Duh! Have a great day!

Hi Terra, this is beautiful.

I love "In the Garden" though some say it isn't correct. It is comforting to me and hopeful.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit this morning!
