Some
lyrics from one of my favorite hymns "In Christ Alone", written by Keith
Getty (Northern Ireland) and Stuart Townend (England).
I am posting this with love for Judy.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

I love the old hymns. They tell a story of faith. Most of the newer music we have doesn't do that although I have heard a few that touch those depths of the soul. Nice post.
Thank you for these encouraging words today.

I haven't heard that one Terra. I love the old hymn Softly and Tenderly Jesus is calling... A lady sang it a capella in Trip To Bountiful and it has haunted me ever since.
One of my favorite hymns EVER, period! It moves me like few other hymns.
I've just listened to this in the car. It is one of the most beautiful I know, and we play it the most often of any on our playlists.
I really like this one too! I got a CD last year that's called Hymned again and this song is on it. One of my favorites!

ps. no pic of the shoes, because i didn't want anyone to be 'green.' :)
I absolutely LOVE this one. I can imagine singing this while I'm waiting for Christ to take me home to Heaven~

Hello Terra:) Thank you for passing by my blog. This is a lovely hymn, and I didn't know it.
I liked your potatoes in a bucket post!! So simple yet practical!
Enjoy your weekend!
Greetings from Portugal.
I love the old hymns!!
Lovely Hymn....sometimes I read Hymns as poetry to the Lord...so many people just sing and do not understand what they are singing.
Just had that hymn rolling through my brain yesterday as I ran! It is such lovely truth.
Truth--secure in His hand.
Powerful. Best wishes to Judy and to you. Tammy
Terra, one of my very favorite songs! There are a handful of wonderful new praise songs which we sing regularly in our church - along with some of the great old hymns of faith. Thank you for putting this in my mind this morning! (P.S. I'm your newest follower via GFC and Feedly) :-)
A favorite of mine also. What a powerful message it is coupled with strong & simple tune...
These are wonderful words, and Phil just sang the tune to me!!!!
Just beautiful. A promise of hope and eternal love.
Hugs,
Patti
Beautiful lyrics and my sentiments exactly! I read your previous post and I too LOVE Downton Abbey and thank you for the Cazalet recommendation. I'm going to look for the books. The Game also sounds like a great series about Sherlock Holmes and his wife. Thank you!!! P.S. I'm finally "following" you. Duh! Have a great day!
such beautiful inspirational words, I love Sherlock Holmes!!!!
I'm not sure if I have ever heard this hymn before ~ maybe if I heard the music I would recognize it ~ but I absolutely love the words to it!! ~Karen

Have a blessed Sunday.
Hi Terra, this is beautiful.
I love "In the Garden" though some say it isn't correct. It is comforting to me and hopeful.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit this morning!
