This Sunday my husband had a brilliant idea. Let's go to the wharf and have an outdoor picnic there, with the main course being fresh oysters. So we brought water, soda and french bread with us and bought a dozen blue point oysters.
The wharf sells mostly fresh caught local fish but the Blue Point oysters were from the East Coast and were delicious. The last time I ate raw oysters was a couple years ago and now I remember how delish they are. Of course, not every one likes them, I know.

I do love oysters! Lucky you, you were able to enjoy them in such great place! Love those creatures too! Your husband had a great idea!
Ah yes! Wonderful! Seafood never tasted fresher.
What a fun way to spend the day!! I LOVE oysters! We like them with a little shot of hot sauce on them...yum!

I love oysters, I love seals, I love the ocean and bay waters.
It looks like it was a beautiful day! I, too like the scenery but am thankful you didn't invite me to partake of your delish dish since it's not one I want.
I'm not a fan of oysters, but I'm glad you got to enjoy them. I love seeing the seal photos. How cool! :)
Now, that sounds like a perfect outing!! Love the photos! blessings ~ tanna
It sounds like a perfectly wonderful idea to me. I like to say that I like oysters, but if I'm honest, I really just like cocktail sauce so just about anything tastes good with it.
Cute little guys. Love fresh seafood.

You're lucky to live near there so you can do a little picnic like that. That must've been fun. Those seals are just adorable. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment.
I am not an oyster fan myself but have plenty of friends that are....

I like the way your hubby thinks!!! What a neat place to have a picnic. Cheers, LJ
Wow, now THAT'S
a day to remember!
You must pinch yourself
every day to live close
enough to the beach
to enjoy those kind
of moments!

I think your husband just became my idol.
I must confess I've never tasted an oyster. I've got a problem with puttin' somethin' like that after helpin' with so many castrations.
OOps...Too much info...right. Sorry, 'my bad!!!
'Loved your beautiful pics!
God bless ya sweetie and have a wonderful weekend!!! :o)

Hi Terra,
Wanted to say nice to meet you here in blogland and thanks for your visit. Is this Wharf in San Francisco by any chance, I have another blogger friend who lives near to that area, and she has shown pics
before of the seals. They are so cute. Good you like raw oysters, that makes for an easy meal. What a fun thing for your hubby to suggest. A picnic outside in great weather is always a good thing.
Our weather here in Florida is just
so lovely right now. Cool and breezy and beautiful blue skies,
one of my favorite times of the year here for sure.
Take care and hope you come to visit again soon,
Blessings, Nellie
and keep that grateful heart, it is a very good thing!!
Terra, thank you for stopping by.
It's so fun to see the seals and the wharf on your blog. What a different world! It's been years and years since I've seen open water.
enjoyed your photos...wish I could have enjoyed some of those oysters with you...Don and I loved fresh, raw oysters
What a lovely location. And a lovely outing. I like oysters cooked with bacon pieces and cheese on top..not raw, but you say they are fresh caught, so I'm sure they were very enjoyable.. Its grat getting out for a simple day of pleasure like this.
Oh! Looks like summer where you are! Our trees have turned and the brrrr is coming into the air - crisp November morning here in South Jersey.
Thanks so for your sweet and encouraging comment about all my furniture re-arranging. The Lord, He is faithful and will do it!
Joy!
Kathy
What a wonderful day trip! I love your view! ♥
Looks like an enjoyable outing, it reminds me of a trip I made to San Francisco as a teenager, I remember seeing seals and lots of places selling sea-food. I've never tried oysters, but i LOVE clam chowder! :)
Enjoyed your post,
Scarlett
I love doing things like this...those seals are adorable..I am always on the look out for them when we head to the ocean...there is a place where you can buy fish to feed them..one of my favourite things to do. Hugs and thanks for sharing.
How fun would this be? I would love to see some seals laying in the sun. Eating oysters...not so much. ;)
Happy November Terra!
xo Catherine
Great photos-makes me miss S.F. Raw oysters aren't for me though.
