Greek Orthodox Church Destroyed on 9/11
Greek Orthodox Church Dome and Cross
Originally uploaded by bongo vongo
Finally this is in the news, with the New York Times picking up the story on August 23, 2010.
A Greek Orthodox Church was the only religious building destroyed on 9/11 at Ground Zero, and so far has not been allowed to rebuild.
This has been a lot of years to still not give them permits.
Yet the mosque got a quick green light.
This is not justice.
Here is the article:

The church simply wants to rebuild; it should have gotten the permits years ago and I hope it gets the ok to build now.

Interesting - glad this is getting out on the news.
Dear Terra, I find this story extraordinary. And if these things are allowed to drag on in your country, what hope is there in those countries with fledgling democracies? It is so true, as Orwell writes, "Some are more equal than others.".
That just isn't right.
I didn't vote for him!
G'eve Terra ~ I am telling you you don't want me to get started on this ____ that is going on so unfairly. It behooves me that this mosque is even considered. The Union Workers vow it will not be built & they are the ones that would have to build it ...
Have a lovely eve ~

AMEN! Thanks for blogging about it.

Never knew that. They should have got the permission in a Christian country.
Why the mosque and not a church? Sending a wrong message to the world
An interesting point, missed completely by the media. I guess we bloggers have an advantage here.
Now,regardless of our political bend, equality of treatmemt is a democratic ideal, and we must all stand up and uphold it.
How extraordinary! The blues match! That almost NEVER happens. Gorgeous photo!
Golly gee, life just is not fair is it???
God bless ya and have a fantastic Friday sweetie!!!
Howdy Terra
Thank you so much for sharing this important post !
It is so difficult to accept all the corruption that seems to be everywhere these days .
When I was very young my Grandmother taught me when good men and women do nothing evil men will prevail.
I totally get it we must take action not stick our head in the sand waiting for the storms of life to blow over.
My ganny was a soft spoken ,tiny little woman barely 5 feet tall and weighed 80lbs. soaking wet :)
Yet her words carried a lot of power even today they speak loud and clear to me now that I am middle aged and old enough to understand them .
Again thank you for spreading the truth about this true 9/11 Church may it be rebuilt and stand once again to encourage all who visit ,or pass by .
God Bless you and yours !
Big hugs
Until next time
Happy Trails
Wonder why there's been so little press on this? Maybe there has been and I just haven't heard it.
Hello Terra, Yes we heard about the permission for the Mosque to build.I believe the Moslem Society is infiltrating and making communities everywhere..
I pray this Greek Orthodox Church will be granted permission to rebuild also. It is only right!!
God Bless you.CML
The only thing keeping me in check is that the Bible says that God puts the politicians in power and we are to pray for them. so I know He knows what He is doing even though I do not understand it...perhaps it is meant to wake us up. I'm praying enough wake up to shake things up !

Wow amazing isn't it! I am appalled and disgusted at what's happening right now with the proposal of building Mosque at ground zero! And yet we can't get a historical Greek church rebuilt!
America's administration, shame on you!
