My walk and some happy moments

On my walk today at 9 a.m. before church on March 19 I enjoyed the quiet. Few people were out. Later I know there will be many people out walking, jogging, bicycling, skate boarding, pushing baby strollers and walking dogs. On my quiet walk with my dog Bounce we discovered the same box full of free lemons we saw yesterday. Each day I took four gorgeous yellow lemons. Doesn't their cheerful color make you happy too? I treated myself to some pretty pink roses, as you can see. On that same walk I gave 3 magazines to a Little Free Library and took one book, set in Istanbul, a city I love. The book is "Arabesk" by Barbara Nadel and is the third in a detective series that is new to me. Along the bay two blocks away I saw people on a walk/run to raise money for charity. When we have moments like these it is wise to cherish them, before the tears come again. Somehow I found this walk and these moments to be healing.

Hello Terra! God's leading you in gentle ways, allowing your to feel sad at times and joyful at times, too.
How nice that people share lemons. Lemons are lovely. I am making a lemon printed bunting for our patio.
God be with you, dear one.

Aw Terra. I'm glad you can find peace with Bounce on your walks. It sounds like a wonderful neighborhood. Perhaps the lemon person grows lemons in a greenhouse. I too have always wanted to go to Istanbul, but doubt I ever will. I've heard it is a wonderful city - I think number 1 on my list.

Terra, this is very comforting to hear!!! The dog was a blessing, I knew he would be!!! I believe God sends us these little moments of light and joy to keep in touch. When life is hurting , we feel abandoned and hollow. Sometimes we fail to see the light falling on us, but when we start to see it, it gets easier to discover it next time and next. You need both the quiet pace in the morning walks and the pleasure of lemons and a waving dogtail, so that is what he gives. And you see it!!! Great. Amen to free lemons!!

Between this post and the last one, I'm inspired to go check out the only little free library in our small town. I'm rather restless in the reading department. Not sure WHAT I want to read and feeling very "picky" about it at the same time...

It really does us good to get outside and walk. I'm going to look for the books you've mentioned. I would love to start a new series and we like so many of the same books. Sweet hugs, Diane

Yes, those were definitely beautiful healing moments for you. Thank you for taking us along on this journey with you. Praying for you and trusting the Lord to be with you each step of the way. You are never alone. The little lemons are lovely...and the roses are perfect. Enjoy your book...and try to walk some every day if you can. It is so good for the soul and heart and body...very healing. One step at a time.

It will take time and you must be gentle with yourself. I am glad that you are getting out...in the quiet...before everyone else comes along and distracts you. Sometimes the quiet is what you need.

We have one of those little libraries by our park...and I pass it on our walk...and I say every single time I pass it: I'm gonna stick porn in there.
