Your word for 2012

Are you going to choose a word for 2012?
Last year I chose "shine" and for 2012 I choose "listen".
This dog is listening intently. My word will remind me to listen to friends and family, and to listen when I pray.
I know God often whispers and I want to hear His whispers.
Molly at birdiebluesky.blogspot.com will be choosing a word too.
I got this quote from her blog:
"For last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a new beginning." T.S. Eliot
I find it fascinating to read what other people choose as their word; somehow we each find the perfect word for ourself.

Wonderful post.

My word for the new year is "time." Take time to listen to God, take time to be compassionate to others.

I appreciate your friendship thru blogging and wish you a blessed new year.

What a fine, giving sort of word to choose, to "listen" ~ a gift you give to others, and a gift that blesses you. Happy New Year!

Howdy Terra
Oh my you'll never know how much the Nipper Image means to me .
My entire life my dad was an RCA sales and service center man, He was awarded many awards over the years but the one he held dear was a framed print of Nipper at an old Victrola ,I now have this framed print in my bedroom :)
My word for 2012 is JOY .
It has been far too many years between belly laughs in our family and I truly believe this coming new year holds a season of joy .
Thank you so much for sharing ,caring and holding us here in blogland with your special gift for hope, peace, love and abundant joy no matter the circumstances.

I am trying to narrow down a word for 2012....Hope has been my word for many years facing my illness...joy is what I try to find in every day....I am leaning toward the word REST.....to rest in what the Lord has for me...and not to fret...I think that will be my word.

Hi Terra,

I choose HOPE! Yes, it's been used a lot, but I need to believe that things will get better and hope will help me get there.

Happy New Year!!!!

Hugs,
Janelle

I like your word for 2012 and to that I would add my word, which would be 'patience'. I think we could all do with more of that, especially me.
I like your newlook Blog.

Hmmmm - - - lots of people picking one word. I haven't done that. Maybe will think of it for another year. I am enjoying reading what you all have picked though.

I'm choosing my word tomorrow. I'm just about set and will post about it tomorrow. Wishing you joy in the new year and always!

After I posted my entry today, I learned that many were posting entries about choosing one word for 2012. That amazed me since I had no idea others were doing that. (I'm out of touch I guess.)

I chose "hitherto." The word is meant to remind me that "hitherto" and thus far, the Lord has been with me, and He will continue to be there in the future.

I want to choose the word 'courage'.
I often find myself lacking in courage and would dearly love to make it mine for 2012.

Happy New Year!

It's funny you would talk about a word for this year because in a recent post I blogged about this years "motto". It's "Git er' done!"
If you feel like it you can see what I wrote about it here. http://www.homesteadersheart.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-year-new-motto.html
Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a wonderful day!
