My Magic Rabbit

Did you ever have a pet rabbit? My grandpa, Elmer Pelkin, was a professional magician and he pulled a white rabbit out of his top hat and gave it to my sister and me as a pet. So I had a magic rabbit.

We named the bunny Fluffy and his favorite times were when I let him hop around the yard eating clover. I picked clover for him and he found his own.
Now thinking of rabbits has me thinking ahead to Easter.

Halloween Zombie Poster From My Grandpa's Show

My grandpa, Elmer Pelkin, was a professional magician in the 1920s, 30s and 40s, and here is a poster from one of his shows. I think it is a fun poster for this Halloween holiday.
Invisible zombies!
Right in tune with all the fervor over zombies on tv now, including The Walking Dead. I am a fan of this tv show though I close my eyes upon occasion when the zombie gore is too much for me.
My grandfather was Elmer Pelkin and he toured the USA east of the Mississippi, with his wife (my grandma Leah) and four of their five children as the troupe of performers.

My grandpa and invisible zombies

My grandfather was a professional magician who traveled the United States in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s and this is one of the posters for a show of his. His name was Elmer Pelkin, and his wife and children participated in the shows. Each child played instruments, and he and my grandmother sometimes dressed in colorful Chinese robes to add glamor and mystery to their act. One magic trick that was a show highlight was that he would cut my grandmother in half.
Can you tell that I am quite proud of this part of my family tree?
