Let me take a look at my photos and find some to share here.
The gardens at my favorite coffee shop. Well, my only coffee shop. I like independent shops and never go to Starbucks where they insert politics into their business. Plus I love to sit outside and relax and chat with friends. Do you see the two benches?
Above is a portrait of me that my blog friend Diane had made for me as a surprise gift. Diane is wonderful and lives across the ocean from me in the Philippines. Each of you blog friends is unique and talented and I enjoy visiting you here in blogland.
That little dragon is precious, and I hate to think someone would be so low as to steal him. I love Starbucks' French roast pods, but refuse to patronize their stores for the same reason as you cite. Just wish I could find something comparable.
ReplyDeleteI don't go to Starbucks either. I like that dragon. I sure hope he's safe wherever he may be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute portrait of you.
I love the drawing of you. What a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI think your dragon friend flew away, maybe to a castle.
What a sweet little dragon! Nope..haven't seen him here in NYS. :)
ReplyDeleteStarbucks and politics??? i frequent MANY Starbucks around the capital region of NYS where i live (as in 2-3 times a week) and NEVER have I heard politics being spewed there. Maybe it depends on your state/city??
I also love the smaller coffee shops too though and happily we have 3 near me as well as 5 starbucks and 3 of the 5 Starbucks have outdoor seating areas and the smaller coffee shops I also go to, have beautiful outdoor areas with flowers and small gardens. One is in my fave NY city: Saratoga.
I enjoyed my visit here and that's a sweet pic that your blogging friend sent you!
Great photos, I like the portrait of you
ReplyDeleteCute portrait!
ReplyDeleteI did see the two benches. And I agree about Starbucks. Where did the dragon go? Very nice gift your blog friend made you across the sea.
ReplyDeleteI hope your little dragon friend returns from wherever he went. Surely he wasn't stolen!! We had a mystery of that sort locally when a quite heavy sculpture was taken then returned about a month later.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog picture you friend made So sad about the little dragon. I hope no one 'took' him. Maybe he will show up somewhere again. Enjoy your sweet little coffee shop. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love that little dragon. Your portrait is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift from your friend and a unique gift at that...Well..I just wonder what did happen to the dragon friend. I hope that wherever he is, they are taking good care of him. I'm not a Starbucks fan...First of all, their coffee is too strong for me, second...it is too expensive....and third, the politics. It would be nice to sit on one of those benches and enjoy a nice cup of coffee with a friend.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful spot at your coffee shop. I agree with you on businesses that insert politics - there's way too many that do that.
ReplyDeleteThe dragon is so cute! I hope he comes back.
I really like the picture from your friend!
The gardens look like a lovely place to sit and visit with a friend and have coffee (or tea for me!). And yes, I see the dragon! I hope he comes back! I was going to say if you lived in my neck of the woods he may have been blown away in the hurricanes, but maybe he just went on vacation for a while! I love the "portrait" of you from your blogging friend. Does it actually look like you? I don't think I've seen a picture of you. It's really sweet!! Hope you are doing well! Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteYes I saw the benches and dragon.
ReplyDeleteNever seem to have coffee out, not a great drinker of it yes, we have a coffee machine here at home!
Lovely is the painting.
What a lovely picture. I have no idea what you look like but I hope it is something like that!
ReplyDeleteDear dragon, you flew to another place. I don't know, where you are, but nothing is lost for the Lord.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! What. happy and cheer filled post! I agree with you about Starbucks. I haven't gone to one in years for just the reason you mentioned. That dragon is so cute. I hope he left on his own for a new adventure somewhere. And that portrait of you is wonderful. Your friend is very talented indeed. I hope all is well in your part of the world. Here we are having crisp fall days and blue, blue skies. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteFun drawing of you
Cathy
I don't go to Starbucks either -I don't drink flavored coffee and am never impressed with seasonal sugary drinks. But mostly it's not because of their politics - it's because of my my personal view that these giant chains are ruining us.
ReplyDeletea lovely place to sit and have chat with friends i agree dear Terra :)

I love coffee shops, especially if they have yummy pastries with a bookstore nearby! Sorry your little dragon flew away, maybe he is hibernating for the winter. The portrait is so adorable - such a nice gift! x K
