Numi flowering tea - after

Our oldest son gave me this tea pot and Numi flowering tea for Christmas.
I had not tried it before. It not only tastes and smells delicious but when it is brewed in the clear glass pot, it looks like a sculptural work of art.
The flavors in the set he gave me are Shooting Star, Sunset Oolong, Golden Sunset, Dragon Lily, Jasmine Lovers and Lavender Dream.
Flowering tea is an art form made of hand picked tea leaves sewn around various flowers. This can take 10 minutes to sew the tea bundle. When steeped they slowly blossom into a bouquet.
Numi is the name of the tea company and they pioneered this technique. The ingredients are organic.
This is new to me and way wonderful.

Terra, what a beautiful gift! One of my friends had a tea party once and had something very similar, that 'blossomed.' It was so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift! As you say, the tea whilst steeping in its water is a sculptural form and all the more fascinating for it. We are afraid to say that we are not very adventurous with tea, sticking with Twining's Breakfast Tea for years. However a friend recently ordered 'Pink Tea' in a rather swish tea room in Brighton recently and we had to say that it looked [and he said tasted] absolutely delicious.
I have never heard of this, and really need to check it out! It really is quite pretty, isn't it?

Thank you for your heartfelt comment about my mom, and I'm so sorry you lost your mom at the age of 54. I'm o.k, and she is always in my heart, but as you know....losing a mom is very hard at times.
