Did you choose a word for 2013?

In 2011 I chose Shine, in 2012 Listen.
Friends in 2013 have selected Peace, 2 have selected Health, one has chosen Redeemed. These are to give you ideas for your own word.
"A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverb 16:9
My oh so funny cousin chose Rutabaga last year and said it didn't work out so good so I suggested he consider Kohlrabi this year.
If you choose a word for the year or make a resolution, I would love you to share it here.
Have fun and blessings in 2013.

  1. Dream is a very good word to take into the new year, for without dreams, reality cannot happen. It is what keeps us going forward when we feel like we cannot take another step. Excellent word! Happy New Year, sweet lady. May all your dreams come true!

  2. I'm choosing...the word " choose". I was inspired by a post Susan Branch wrote this am...about small ways to bring our dreams down out of the clouds...My word/S for last year ( and previous years ) was DREAM BIG !
    Love this idea...Happy New Year!

  4. I think mine will be "Passion". I believe that you need passion to really appreciate, understand and give to others.
I also like "commitment". It's another meaning I need to work on.
    Happy New Year, C.

  8. I like your idea of a word...but I've already chosen a Scripture for 2013. I posted it on my blog, but will share it here too.

"Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as unwise and witless, but as wise, sensible, intelligent people. Make the very most of the time, buying up each opportunity . . . Therefore, do not be vague and thioughless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is" Ephesians 5:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

I think I'll also dream along with you. I like that word.

  13. I have never picked a word for the year but if I had one or two that are similar they would be Goals/Projects. Since I just retired, I have a long list of things I would like to accomplish around our home!

  15. I hope most of your dreams come true. Dreams are good. They give us something to look forward to, to wish for, to imagine, to find hope in. Happy new year!

  16. Happy New Year Terra..... your cousin sounds like a hoot!

I'm so not analytical...or deep ... or spiritual...... I love his choice.... wonder if I could come up with something ...not necessarily a vegetable, you understand...but, something more fun than many...
Health is just too mundane...I try so hard at it all the time and have no luck anyway it seems ...so I just go with whatever happens and try to figure out what to do with it.... a syndrome called Ehlers Danlos gets in my way.

Maybe a word involving fun..... that's always good....I could use more humour and fun in my life some days .... I'll ruminate on that ....

  18. Happy New Year!
Goals that are loudly embraced usually will remain priorities for us. Health is the only one I want to stay focused on.

  22. I have no special word of resolutions for the new year, but I enjoy reading what others are doing. Interesting stuff. My saying for this year is, "All you can do, is all you can do. And that's enough."
