Church Sign

Church Sign
Originally uploaded by iirraa

One day recently I was walking in a neighborhood new to us, with my husband, and we saw a church with this sign. I just loved it, it really tickled my funny bone, and now I share this photo from flickr with you.
I think it is funny yet profound.
I believe that there is a church with a seat and a place just perfect for you. You may already have found it, or you may be seeking.
I hope this photo gives you a smile.

  6. Dear Terra, The sign is, as you point out, great fun and very cleverly thought up. Strangely, only last summer I saw a similar sign outside of a church in Bewdley, a small town in Worcestershire, England.

  13. Silly me had to do a little double-take. Ok, I knew the two letters, U and R.... Then a lightbulb went off and I got it- you are! What a clever sign to get some attention.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit. It was my first trip to Milwaukee and we didn't have time to do anything except walk around the downtown area. Maybe another trip is in order!

  16. Oh and I have to say thank you! For not making us do Word Ver.!

You and I both use Comment Ver. which I find keeps spam/etc. out of my blog.

And naturally, I prefer that way of safety. But some..... do both! Eeek! And some just do Word Ver. which I realllly *dislike.* -sigh- So I try to say thank you, to those who don't make me do Word ver. :-)

  18. Hi Terra,
I am so happy you stopped by for a visit. That sign says a lot! Thanks for sharing it with us. Yes, I live on an island; Prince Edward Island, home of Anne of Green Gables! Wonderful in the summertime, not so wonderful in the wintertime! Have a wonderful week.

  27. I love the church sign! Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower!
I write from my heart and sometimes people don't care to read things about the Lord, or life challenges. I just find writing to be an outlet for my personal emotions and thoughts.I truly love it when readers like yourself are touched by what they read. Thank you sooo much!

  28. Oh my gosh that's so cute! Every church should have one!

  29. This sign speaks volumes Terra, very true. The church is not a building made of bricks and wood.It comprises of believers with Christ as the Head.

    Beautiful way of putting it.

  32. I like signs like that--the ones that make you smile and think a bit. I've also seen "Sign broken--message inside" on a church near us. I liked that one too.

  33. Tku Terra for dropping by my blog. Sadly my last post.....I wish we had met before, but that was not meant to be it would appear.

Your post made me smile. I have found my place.....I walk peacefully in a garden, which I suppose you could call my church. For me, I am always closer to God in a garden than anywhere else.......

Someone sent me one of those "round robin" emails with lots of different church signs enclosed but this one didn't feature in it. Thanks for sharing Rosie
