What I Will Miss

What I will miss.
I got this idea from Nora Ephron's book of essays titled "I Remember Nothing".
Nora and I share a couple of things on our lists, namely Kids and Paris.
What I Will Miss
My kids.
Friends.
Candle light.
Lunch with family and friends.
Reading.
Women's Bible study.
Dogs.
Cats.
All wild animals from elephants to coyotes.
 IPA beer.
Pretty shadows.
Paris. Lived there for 5 months.
Istanbul. Lived there for a year.
The Pacific Ocean which I see every day.
Sky.
Clouds.
Hymns.
Fresh fruit every day.
Ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches.

OK, today is January 31, 2019 and I see the date this post appeared says February 11, 2019. Spooky right? Or some sort of time travel into the future.
I was attempting to schedule it to have it post on that day of Feb. 11 in future, but hey ho, blogger has a mind of its own sometimes.

  4. The things that we will miss, I imagine are the things we should be grateful for every day.

  5. I adored Nora Ephron. Your list is great!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I tried to reply to your email but it has bounced back twice, but it was nice to see you there!

  7. Hmmm, I am not familiar with Nora Ephron, and I am wondering when/why you will miss these things? Is this for after you leave earth for heaven? Just wondering...because if it is , we might think we will miss these things, but when we see heaven, we will probably forget that earth existed because heaven is so much better...but then again, it's nice to think about the things we love here and now and that yes, if we can miss anything on earth, these things will be what you will miss most of all. I get it...

  10. I would say pretty much the same thing Pamela M. Steiner did. I’m not sure when you would miss these things because I am not familiar with that book. Interesting about Blogger in the day though. Feb. 11 is my sisters birthday and today is my birthday. Quite the coincidence. Blessings, Betsy

  11. well, that is a wonderful list of wonderful things. I'm not familiar with Nora Ephron either, so I'm not sure why you would be missing them. But, it just leads me to believe even more, that we need to treasure all of those things that are most precious to us, and be ever grateful!

  12. Thinking of you, especially with Valentine's Day so close. ((HUGS)) Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, dear one. The loss of one's beloved is hard to understand by those who haven't been through it. <3

  13. How I miss Nora Ephron. When a beloved author dies, I feel a selfish sort of loss that I'll never get to see another creation of theirs.

I love your list. I know I could create a long one!! But there is one thing...I think of my kids and their kids moving on, growing, celebrating--just living life. it makes me shudder to think I won't be there to experience, see it, and be a part of it. But they are here now and I'm here now, so it's all about now!

  16. I read this one last year and it made me think of my own mental list of things I will miss. I loved your list Terra.

  17. A few people asked where am I going? In a way the list is about things I love and would miss if they were no longer there. A list of my favorite things.

  18. Ah, I see, Terra. My list would be very similar but no beer and ice cream would come higher!

  19. I like your list. I would just add: trees, the sea, goat cheese and dark chocolate. This has happened to me about the date. I found out that if you place a future date and don’t immediately go to “save” it will publish the post immediately. You have to remember to go and save first.

  20. Could you give us a screenshot of your date settings? How is this possible! :)
