Funny lemons from one tree, Amazabobs, Wordless Wednesday

We have a Meyer lemon tree that we planted about 15 years ago in an oak wine barrel. The lemons are always standard size but this February I picked this giant lemon from the tree. What is up with that?
I am linking up with Wordless Wednesday So far 14 bloggers signed up with the number growing quickly.

  1. I have heard how great Meyer lemons are, especially for preserving them. We get them here for about two weeks in the late summer---I can only imagine how un-fresh they are (for lack of a better word). Good for you!

  4. My goodness. That is one huge lemon. I've got a small Meyer lemon, bought last year, loaded with buds and one small lemon growing right now. Also have a Mexican Key Lime full of buds.

  5. Looks as if another type of lemon was grafted to the original.

  8. I always thought that Meyers Lemons were the really big ones. You say this tree is growing in a barrel and it gets such nice lemons? What a great idea! I wonder if I could do that!

  9. Ooh, I envy you your lemon tree, whatever size fruit it grows. To me that is the essence of a sunny, faraway holiday place. Probably a very good description of your home! Jane xx

  11. Hi Terra,

That is a wonderful big lemon and how exciting for you.
You asked about our olives - we have 12 trees and are able to harvest the olives and then take them out to be pressed and have been lucky to get on an average about 12 or more bottles of the oil.
    Thanks for visiting, Carolyn

  15. well this is odd for sure, we have trees here in FL that have lemons bigger than that, but they come from a tree that has only big lemons. I wonder if it taste the same as the little ones..

  17. Ohhh Just think of the lemon curd you can make with this lemon... or the gin and tonics, you could have but maybe let's not go there as it's not yet lunchtime! Thank you for your comment on my blog, it was interesting to read of your connection with Belgium, it is a small country with a big reach.
Have a lovely day and stay safe.
