Books as Food blogger
booksasfood.blogspot.com listed her 10 favorites on April 23 and inspired me to write a list. Of course my list may change over time.
Do you like any of my favorites?
Do you have a list of your favorites?
Terra, Nel is such a book lover that I'm going to forward this list on to her. I'm curious to see how many authors she knows.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well, my friend.
love, ~Sheri
I've heard of all of them, but don't think I've read any of them.

Have to say I didn't recognize too many authors on your list, just 3 I think it
was.......I would have to do some thinking about my favs, cause not sure I really have a favorite author as I
have read books by quite a number of people, and haven't been reading as much as I used to........
right now I am rereading "One Thousands Gifts" by Anne VosKamp and she is quite a gifted writer I must say.

I love C.S. Lewis and Jane Austen. What's really sad is I've never heard of the rest! I think I better get caught up on some reading!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your book list! I have a few of the same favorites, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, P.G. Wodehouse, and Madeleine L'Engle. Other favorites are G.K. Chesterton, N.T. Wright, Dorothy L. Sayers, and am just starting to read Hillary Mantel. Love her writing style!
ReplyDeleteI mentioned you on my blog this morning and gave a link to this post! Happy reading my friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteJust followed Lavender Dreamer's link here. I also love Madeline L'Engle's books, her memoirs, but did read her others to my kids when they were growing up. I'm just now rereading McCall Smith'e Isabel Dalhousie series, and I love Louise Penny's mystery books, read Dorothy L. Sayers books over and over and Charlotte Macleod.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite authors are Rumer Goden, Elizabeth Goudge, and Nelia Gardner White.
Love reading, love books, love posts about them!
Gee I have only heard of two of those. C.S. Lewis and Jane Austen. I have so many, but I believe my favourites are, Corrie Ten Boon, Catherine Marshall, Anja Seton, Catherine Cookson, Jeanette Oake and a new one, Bonnie Leon. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteCame over from Lavender Dreamer's post. Love your list and the authors, although haven't read any Trollope. Just got a book from a library used book sale by him though.
ReplyDeleteI also like Wendell Berry, Elizabeth Goudge, Miss Read, Dostoevsky, Dorothy Sayers, too.
I'm still reading Jan Karon Mitford series, and enjoying it. I love Jane Austen books as well. Blessings
ReplyDeleteYes, I like your list. I'd add James Herriot and Catherine Marshall and E.B. White and Elizabeth Goudge and Lucy Maud Montgomery and...how'd you stop at ten? =D
ReplyDeleteNicholas Sparks, Lance Horner, Kyle Onstott, Ashely Carter..
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few in your list which I read too. Perhaps they’re not all time favourites but they are certainly much loved.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one. I have to give it thought. I picked up a new mystery set in India that looks good. I'll be sending it to you later this summer. No fear about the shoes. I hiked miles and wore my sneakers and orthotics. BookExpo was not the time to be vain about footwear.
ReplyDeleteGood evening Terra,
ReplyDeleteThere are a few on your list ( great list by the way) I am not familiar with.. Will need to look them up.
Thank you so much for your visit and kind words.
Always a joy to see you there.
blessings,
Penny
Jane Austen will always be a favorite!
ReplyDeleteThere are several favorites of mine on your list, and I'm thinking about starting the school year out with Madeleine L'Engle's books…..Just for fun to get back into the groove of school!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jane Austen is the best. A very rare genius.
ReplyDeleteI love Jane Austen and like almost every single one. Madeleine L'Engle is genius. I read and reread her books as a child. I lived in the public library. I would rather read a good book than almost anything. When my family camped and hiked, I stayed in the tent and read!!!
