"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see." John Burroughs
To this I would add "all the prayers I want to pray and all the family I want to see."
"Our first job is to prepare the soil. The best tool for this is your neighbor's garden tiller. If your neighbor does not own a garden tiller, suggest that he buy one." Dave Barry
"I have great faith in a seed." Henry David Thoreau
"Laying out grounds may be considered a liberal art, in some sort like poetry and painting." William Wordsworth
Love those quotes!!! Especially the one about the garden tiller, lol.... Love your pics. I have my Lady set in the grove but the grove really needs some work. Right now she is looking over all the fallen leaves. Have a great weekend. LJ
ReplyDeleteHi Terra - lovely photos ... and yes the days are too short - or I sleep longer than I should!
ReplyDeleteWe need to prepare our lives and to be ready ... so that when the blooms burst through we are ready to enjoy them.
Creative arts ... all of them - poetry, painting, walking out to see them and then creating ... perhaps even writing .. cheers Hilary

ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and pictures, Terra. The colour in your garden is still so vibrant, as is the meaning of the quotes.

I agree with Wordsworth, designing a garden (and, I think, keeping up with it as it grows) has a lot in common with poetry and art.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLove the quotes.....love the garden. I believe gardeners are the true "caregivers" to our battered planet.

Lovely post and the quotes are so inspiring. I often think that the days are too short to take all that life has to offer in. Your photographs are equally as lovely.
