Me on a donkey and castle walls in Turkey

Here is a change of pace for my blog: two photos from my college days in Turkey.
One is of me riding a donkey to a picnic spot on the Island of Buyukada, near Istanbul.
Turkish college friends created a feast including shish-kebob which they cooked there, feta, olives, sturdy bread, rose petal jam,  borek and baklava for dessert.
The other photo shows a friend standing on the ramparts of Rumeli Hisar, right below our college which is built on the heights of Bebek, in Istanbul. From the college we could look down to see the Rumeli Hisar fortress, and the Bosphorus, a mighty river that runs from the sea through Istanbul.

And oh friends, my new book is available on Amazon at
Scrapbook of Motherhood Firsts: Stories to Celebrate and Wisdom to Bless Moms
Hardcover, full color and less than $12.00; reviewers suggest it as their go to gift for new moms, or for baby showers, or for you.

  7. Hi Casa Mariposa, you asked if I am Turkish, and no, I am American. I chose to study abroad my junior year, and selected Turkey. A great choice.
Hi Cottage Tails, I love donkeys too, and mules and burros. Never owned one, wouldn't that be fun?

  22. Terra ~

thanks so much for stopping by my blog and your words of encouragement. I love Beth Moore Studies, and I done quite a few of them as student, and as the teacher. A really good way to break the strongholds with Breaking Free was a great study.

My note cards... Actually, I give away more than I sale as I'm just not good a marketing. So mainly friends purchase from me. When I sell they are $2 each plus postage. If you buy 10, I add 2 extra to say thank you. I don't have a catalog, but the range is floral, butterflies, people, jars of clay, etc, etc. If you are interested, email me, and give me an idea of what you like, and I'll email you some pictures to choose from. If I knew how to do it, I guess I could have a website.

Again, thanks so much for coming by.

  23. Silly me....forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed your post and the picture of you in Turkey. I have a friend that has gone on Mission Trips to Turkey every year now for many years. I've never rode a donkey, but I got bit by one once. Ouch...but that's another story HaHa

  24. Love your photo on a donkey. I spent a week in Istanbul a number of years ago and loved it. I'd like to go back and see more of Turkey, especially the coast and biblical sites. Hope you're having a great Sunday!
