Camellias in Garden or Floating in Bowl

Camellias are blooming at our house, beginning the first week of January. The kind in these photos is mainly white petals with nice streaks of pink. These bushes are next to our patio and are about nine feet tall.



Camellias grow in zones 7-9, like a sheltered location with not too much sun or wind, and can be grown in colder areas in containers where you protect them from deep freezes.If you know what variety this camellia is, please let me  know. I planted it 20 years ago and don't recall the variety.

    Beautiful! I miss all the flowers and veggies we were able to grow in California. Thanks for sharing your pictures. The smell of jasmine along the walks is one I miss the most. No such smells in the high dessert in New Mexico.

    GORGEOUS!! Oh how I wish we could have such lovelies growing this time of year. But I can't complain .. we have had the least snow fall in years and the temps have been warmer too!! xo HHL

    My Mom lives in Mississippi and has a Camellias but not as tall as yours. It was a nice memory. Thank you for the wonderful picture. pat

    I love camellias. I love the deep pink and the red varieties the best. I wanted to use some for a valentine table, but I don't know anyone who has them well enough to ask for a blossom share.
