Valentines Day is on its way

Gold, Red and Green Heart Pendant

Yesterday I got confused (yeah, that happens) and thought Valentines Day will be next Monday, so it's time to mail cards. I already had the four cards, so addressed them to mail today.
Then I realized wait a cotton picking minute, that is way too early. Valentines Day is more than a week away. So I will mail the cards Monday. I am sending a card to my aunt, to my cousin and to my step mom, and these gals live alone so cards are especially fun to get, and also one to my sister and her husband.
Do you celebrate Valentines Day?

  1. Actually, I still love to buy heart shaped paper doileys and use them on Valentines day. I used to do elaborately decorated cookies, but the hands won't cooperate anymore.
This year I'm doing a few canvasses that I *hope* will be done in time to be Valentines!

    XXOO~~♥

  3. I mail a few cards to friends that live out of state and to my Mom who lives alone. I'm going to mail one to hubby's office.

  4. that's nice to do for the loners.... I bet they love it... I think it is always fun to get things in the mail...I love it too.

I usually get us a box of chocolates.... if Mr. B.V. doesn't do it first... or make us a little treat at home...last year I did our "5 minute chocolate cake" thingy ... always fun and quite tasty for a simple little thing.

  7. Dear Terra, The heart shaped pendant is certainly something very pretty and definitely different for Valentine's Day. I am sure that you will be horrified but not only do I not send Valentine's cards, I do not send Christmas cards either. I just felt that the 'Arms Race' of card sending had to stop somewhere.

  8. Normally I send cards to the grands, and hubby gets his hand delivered, of course.

  10. I don't know what I have against Valentine's Day. But I'm going to consider coming here to read your post as validation for something that's been nagging at my head these past couple days. I've been having the thought that I should acknowledge this day to send something to those I love. I guess I got caught up in the commercialism thinking I had to get people extravagant gifts but you're right. I remember how exciting it was to get those little paper cards in grammar school. I think it would be fun to send those. THANK YOU TERRA! For breaking through....

  12. Always! My children get a card, my grandchild gets goodies, and my hubby gets to choose his restaurant, usually out of town, for a real get-a-way us time.

  13. Aw, you are so sweet. I don't normally send out Valentine's Day cards but just received one from my father. It was very unexpected because we aren't all that close. I must call him now and thank him heartily. I think you are a doll to make someone's day like this!
