Bob Dylan postcards, Baptism, A Funny Exercise

Do you love gardening? It is so calming, nature is patient. Plant a seed and hope.

Here are two old postcards of my much admired Bob Dylan. I have had them about 25 years and posted them at my desk at work. Now I am retired and still hang on to them. He is so playful and happy in the photos, and so young. My husband and I saw him in live performance in our city about 15 years ago. A show where he engaged with the audience. I still have the Dylan tee shirt I bought at the concert.

I had an especially joyful Sunday because my adult sons wanted to go to church with me. Adult baptisms were scheduled and that is very upbeat to see. It turned out one lady about my age was baptized and she told a little bit about her story, A month ago I attended with my sons and 5 young men were baptized. This gives me hope for the future. When I say young I mean in their 20s, 30s 40s, etc. Churches like ours are great places to find a future spouse!

"Younger generations now outpacing parents in church attendance, study finds." Hope for the present and the future. Charlie Kirk's assassination is motivating some of this return to church and to seeking, as young people reject violence. Hurray.

  1. That is wonderful about the baptisms. In my area, we're having a revival within the young people and we, too are seeing more being baptised. I know at times we tend to concentrate on all the wrongs in the world, but there are some truly good things happening as well.

  8. I am so NOT into exercise of any kind so I loved your picture of the 'walking around the block'. I may start telling people I walk around the block. haha

  9. What a delightful post. Yes, the young are finding their way back to church and a relationship with the Lord. How exciting that something so tragic is the result of God blessing.

  11. Happy, happy news about the young people. Charlie was such an inspiration and I truly wish more people would listen to some of his speeches and realize what he truly said and not just what the news media says.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

It's so good to find Christ in young years, so they will have help for the soul always.

  13. Love the Exercise Block! :) (suits my pace right now...)
Here in Sweden it's "on the news" every now and then lately, that we have a lot of young people turning to the church(es) as well, and not least to the Church of Sweden (Evangelical Lutheran national church - formerly state church). When church and state were separated in 2000, a lot of people chose to leave - but now quite a few are joining (or re-joining) again. But it also seems to be a general trend that teenagers now take more interest in church/religion than what has been obvious in a while.

  15. I love the exercise block humour. Good news that there seems to be a turning back to God by younger people as they search for meaning in their lives. God bless each one who seeks and may they find new hope in their lives.
