My Cymbidium orchids in bloom

I have one large pot of Cymbidium orchids and it is in bloom today, beginning about February 1 in 2018.
This orchid doesn't receive any fancy care, just orchid food and water as needed. It is outside all year here in coastal California. I have it planted in medium orchid bark, not in soil or moss. Orchids need great drainage so your pot needs a hole so water drains out..
I want to buy a second Cymbidium in a purple color and will look around a garden store tomorrow after Womens' Bible Study. About 50 women showed up so we divided into 3 groups so it is more informal and everyone gets to talk and know each other a bit better. I signed up to bring baked goods last week and another lady brought 3 kinds of tasty fruit and of course coffee is provided. Can we talk in the morning without coffee? Not me, LOL.

Your orchid is just beautiful. I have never had good luck with orchids. Maybe it’s our climate. I can’t even grow them indoors. I had to laugh at your comment about coffee. You are the second person today to say something online about coffee in the morning. I don’t drink coffee. I have tried several times but can only get a sip down. I just don’t like the taste. Give me a nice cup of hot tea any day.
Blessings always my friend, Betsy

Coffee is ESSENTIAL. All good mornings start with coffee! I love your Cymbidium orchid and looked at one myself the other day. I didn't buy it...yet. :)

Your orchid is magnificent. Even though I love to grow flowers, I have never tried to care for one because I thought they would be too difficult. How wonderful that you can have it outside in your wonderful weather.

I love your orchid!!! Some of mine are bursting into bloom now too. Mine also grow outside all year, with little care, other than watering.

Your Bible study group sounds good. Good food for body and soul.

Have a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady

Gorgeous flowers. Don't think I can grow them here in Ireland.

Beautiful orchid. I am not familiar with that one. Very lovely. I hope you can find the purple one too. Enjoy your Bible Study. It sounds wonderful. Happy for you to have that fellowship and food from God's Word as well.

Two cups of coffee for me every morning. :) We saw many lovely orchids in Sri Lanka at the botanical garden. They definitely would not fare well here in desert country.

Thanks so much for the visit. I sadly left my Cymbidium orchids behind when we left Africa 16 years ago but I have a few Dendrobium Orchids in my house. Only one in flower at present, it seems to generally be all or nothing!! Hope to see you visiting again. have a great week Diane

How beautiful!

Orchids sound so exotic. But you speak of this, as if it isn't "much of anything." :-)))))

I love your orchids. I've tried growing them a few times over the years but I've never been able to get them to bloom a second time.
