My Magic Rabbit

Did you ever have a pet rabbit? My grandpa, Elmer Pelkin, was a professional magician and he pulled a white rabbit out of his top hat and gave it to my sister and me as a pet. So I had a magic rabbit.

We named the bunny Fluffy and his favorite times were when I let him hop around the yard eating clover. I picked clover for him and he found his own.
Now thinking of rabbits has me thinking ahead to Easter.

I have had several bunnies Terra, all of them lived in the house. Such easy keepers and little loves! Now you have me thinking of Easter!!

We had pet rabbits at the farm. We let them out at the barn. Once, a bunny hopped up to me with a mouthful of hay and stood up on my leg. I don't know what it was trying to tell me, but it was cute.

Bunnies make great pets. We had three (at different times) and all but one were sweet, loving pets.

So, was the bunny really "magic"? What were your grandpa's secrets to making him disappear and reappear? How exciting for you as a child to have your own "magic rabbit". Thinking ahead to Easter...I can't believe it isn't until the middle of April this year! It has felt like spring here in Florida for a while now! I know others up north aren't having such a nice "winter", but we have been blessed here this year, even for Florida! Easter is a wonderful time of year...for more reasons than the weather and the bunnies!!! Yes, Easter is coming! praise God!!

How cute! We have had three pet rabbits and have enjoyed life with each one of them. Our last rabbit, Lakota just passed away three weeks ago, He had just turned eight.

Oh, how sweet! No, I've never had a pet rabbit but I have a friend who fosters mistreated pet rabbits! She nurses them back to health. Thanks for popping in to see and and yes, I've got more to do in all of my rooms but I get so excited I just have to share! :) Have a great weekend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I never had a rabbit but you not only had a rabbit but a magician in your family! How lucky were you? Yes, Easte...I totally missed Valentine's Day. Usually I send cards and goodies to the grands but my son's health issues have taken the forefront lately. Things are going well but it takes priority over other things. Hoepfully, I can prepare and be ready for Easter! Have a good week!

The rabbits are beautiful, Terra! And it is difficult to think of a rabbit without thinking of Easter. :)

What a cute story of your Grandpa and the white rabbit. I never had a rabbit, but love taking pictures of them at the trail.

Have a nice Sunday, Terra.

What a sweet story of your magic bunny! I've been thinking about getting bunnies again too and need to find a nice big hutch. If I get a white one I'll always remember your magic bunnykins.

What a precious memory. All of the stores have out their Easter decor and candy. It sure is tempting!
