Rudy Day and a Bible Christmas gift idea

Rudy Day is each month on the 25th and helps us get ready for Christmas.
This is the "ESV Daily Reading Bible: Through the Bible in a Year". I treated myself to a copy last Christmas and I find it very easy to read about 15 minutes a day in this Bible. At the end of one year you will have read the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice. Today I looked at Christianbooks.com and it is only $6.99.
No, I have no connection with that online store, but love that low price!
A wonderful Scottish pastor, Robert Murray M'Cheyne (1813-1843) created this reading plan. I was stunned to see he lived to be only 30 and yet left this lasting treasure.
I think this Bible would be a great Christmas gift to yourself or anyone on your gift list, and then they could start in reading on January first.
What gifts are you planning to buy?

I think I have bought what I intend to give; on the other hand, I might yet stumble upon something I haven't yet thought of for someone - who knows.

Great! We don't give presents with Christmas. I think it's an American tradition. When the hilday start (a week before Christmas) we give our children a present. I am reading often books of Robert MacCheyne. We sing also his song. Do you know that song too?(Jehovah Tsidkenu)I have a link to the Dutch translation (video in a Dutch Church) I hope you LOVE it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaqsx99Ykm8

Hi Terra! It's the perfect time of year to be thinking about reading the Bible in a year!

Sounds like a good gift.
Our church always gives out a calendar with daily Bible readings in it that cover the whole Bible in a year. I'll be reading that one again next year.

Hello!!
It's amazing what a treasure the bible really is. This was a very very nice version, the size and massive content often scares people but this seem to be very handy and accessible. As you say, that is quite a thing to leave to the world when you are leaving it that early!!! Rudy Day?? Totally unknown to me. We have the advent sundays leading us into christmas. And something I often give for Christmas is either from the church own giftshop or f.i Unicefs. As a mother said: the wishing list does not mean you are placing an order... I can understand that books are close to your heart, it used to be for me as well but as life takes turns you don't expect, reading has become difficult for me. I often wish for music, tea and a mug from the potter I love.
Thank you for sharing this lovely bible with us, is it available outside UK?

I've brought practical gifts this year for the adults and books for the children. I'm also going to be making donations on Giving Tuesday for a few close friends. Tomorrow I've got a book post and one book that I will be featuring is about Christmas by one of my favorite authors. :)
