Mystery door home is painted

You might have seen my earlier post about this home with the door opening to a cliff drop.
Above is the freshly painted exterior, even the door is freshened up with paint.
Here below  are photos of the mystery door before the house was painted, and during the painting. It looks nicer now but I still wonder about the function of the door. Someone commented it might be the way to get rid of dinner guests who stayed too late. Ha ha. My guess is Rapunzel lives there and her beloved calls to her to let down her long braided hair.
Note the extensive scaffolding they put up to do the house painting. It seems odd that on the lower floor where the door is, there are no windows. Ah, sweet house of mystery.

Wow, that is a strange home. It would be really interesting to see the inside, and what mystery that door holds.

It looks very nice after all that work, but that door is still a puzzle! And it really is strange about the windows too. I think you need to go to the front door with a camera, tell them you are a blogger and inquiring minds want to know...!

Yes you should stop by and introduce yourself because we all want to know about that door! :)

What an interesting house and the door does bring lots of questions. It is fun to reason how to use the door. Perhaps to throw out the water from the laundry wash. Looks like water stains down the wall !! :-)

Nice to see it painted but not quite sure why so dark. Still wonder what the door is, apart from being a door.

Fire regulations - there's a rope ladder inside?

I wonder if they have that door barricaded from the inside to prevent a deadly accident...

Oh Terra, that IS strange! Gosh, I'd hate to open that door and walk outside for a breath of fresh air! Yikers. Interesting. Is there any way you can find out more about it? Where is it located? Susan

One thing to be sure of, people are strange.

That is a strange one but intriguing. Maybe a rope hung down for a quick getaway and the follower not knowing it was a door to nowhere stepped out and fell to his death.

Oh I vividly remember when you first posted about this mystery door Terra! ;-)

I'm still thinking of the postcard I have to send you from Vietnam. And I'm very excited for my Vietnam trip which is 2 weeks from now :D

I love the Rapunzel story! Such romance! I love that I stopped by. Of course, the late dinner guest is hilarious! Kick 'em out that door! LOL! Happy 4th Terra and thank you for stopping by my blog. Hugs, Anne

An enchanting door : ) So nice to hear from You on the 4th. I really liked Your comment. I was thinking it may be a fake door for the communities amusement.

Hopping over from Diane too, those cards you send her are adorable! That door is something I would be wondering about too, I like the idea of getting rid of late dinner guests :-)

The house looks mystery indeed.. Perhaps they have someone captive inside so that if that person tries to escape through the door he'll fall down.. Ha ha. Guess my imagination runs wild.. Have a lovely day!!

So many guesses and so little time. I'm very curious!

Okay so I want answers. Do a little bit of sleuthing about the mystery house and get back to us!

No one to ask about the house with the mystery door? Perhaps there were steps at one time.

Prettier in this color but I admit a bit strange.

Hi, This house is so interesting-reminds me of Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. I'd love to research it and find out what the door was for. The house definitely looks better painted.
Hugs, Noreen

Something about these photos makes me think this is Flat Stanley's house.

Wow, that was some job painting that house. I do remember your other post about the mystery door.

That is really a mystery ! I hope the owner won't put a sign "WC" on the inside of the door, lol !

This is incredibly bizarre and so much fun!!! :-) I greatly prefer the blue & white paint scheme but then they didn't ask me. :-) It seems the house must have been built on a hill that was later partly sliced away. Maybe this was the original back door. But seems like the "slicing" would have compromised the foundation of the house! I'd keep it painted too, since people can see it from below, but I hope no one sleep walks and goes out the "back door" in the middle of the night.

This is something The Head Troll would like- a door for the misbehaving!
