Good things in November

November has some fun aspects for me, and I hope, for you too, especially everyone in the wake of storm Sandy.

My husband and I went on an impromptu vacation in early November to Point Reyes National Seashore, and more about that in my next post.
Nove. 9 lunch to celebrate birthday of a friend. Three of us will treat her.
Nove. 19 lunch with 5 friends, three of us are retired and three of us are working.
Nove. 26 lunch with my Christian writers' group.
Thanksgiving with hubby and our sons.
Church every Sunday which is very joyful, especially the music.
Voting on Nove. 6 in the USA. I love the privilege of voting and very much hope my favored candidate wins.
Hey, all of these except church and voting involve food.
I exercise twice a week on a bike and in a pool and am increasing my workout levels, plus I walk for 30 minutes 4 days a week.
My husband took these photos in Connecticut.
What do you like about your November?

That slowly we're aproaching that magical time of Christmas. It's probably what I enjoy most in November. I see it as a transition month... we don't have big celebrations in November so it's pretty much welcoming the Winter in full and preparing for Christmas.

Happy and Sweet November to you.

Yours,
Teresa

November is my least favorite month because of the cold, damp weather and all the politics. I hate the constant political talk, the constant phone calls, emails, and mostly the negative advertising of the electoral process.

After what has gone on this past year and all the money spent, going back to a monarchy does not sound bad at all. Now I am only kidding somewhat, but I am sure tired of this whole election. However, I do hope the candidate that represents me the most, wins.

Beautiful photos.

Living in s.e. FL we do not have much to show that fall has arrived. But, I love November because our weather has cooled and we have less humidity, and it is Thanksgiving time. I look forward to fixing the turkey and all the fixings that go with it.

Enjoy your 'full' November.

Hello Terra:
We too find that most of our favourite activities either centre around food or have food as a significant part of the proceedings. Indeed, food and the wonderful company of friends are just the best things in life in our book.

In the wake of the terrible distress which people are continuing to experience from Hurricane Sandy, it is good to take time to give thanks for the world and to appreciate the many blessings in our lives. Happy November!

November has always been my least favorite month. Fall colors are gone, the sun rarely shines, the wind is like a slap in the face, and my seasonal depression really kicks in. But this year I find that in November I take joy in any lingering bit of color and any few minutes of sun. By December we generally have lots of sun reflecting off lots of snow, and everything is tinged with Christmas.

I find my church to be a joyful place each week too. And I too love the music. I so wish I could sing better. : )

Oh what beautiful photos your husband took Terra. How great it was that you were able to get away for a bit : ) and to such a gorgeous place.

One of my favorite things about Nov. is the smell in the air here. I love the colors too and the mild days and cold, crisp nights. This November has been much milder than Novembers past, but I am loving every day of it.

The snap in the air. Wearing my fleece vest for the first time in a while. Putting the garden to bed. Looking ahead to the holidays as a simpler time than formerly, and just fine, finally!

Beautiful colours in those pictures! What I've liked about November so far? A fantastic wedding. Broadway songs at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Snuggly jumpers. Various experiements with making soup. ;-)

Thanks so much for paying me a visit! I thought I would visit you in return! What a beautiful tree that is in your garden. I do miss all the colours of a North American autumn . . . here in the UK, the leaves do change, but not with as much brightness to them! xxoo
