Flowers on the sidewalk

On the walk I take several times a week, I recently saw these flowers growing on or over the sidewalk.
It makes me think of "flower power." Do you like to see flowers or weeds growing in a crack in cement, or flowing and crowding onto the sidewalk? The first photo is pink marguerites, the second yellow poppies and the third white poppies. Can you tell from the photo that the pink marguerites almost completely cover the sidewalk? The white poppies are growing where I can't see any dirt; just a crack between a metal pole and the cement sidewalk. I wonder, if people were no longer here, how long would it take for nature to cover all the cement?

I love it when flowers pop up in such unexpected places and they are left alone to bloom there. I just adorn California poppies..always one of my favourites. Happy Easter week to you. xoxo

Very pretty. Yes I am a camera nut when flowers are going in the cracks. I see them as very determined!

Beautiful photos! I love seeing plant life ignore the barriers we try and put in it's way....
I'm thinking it wouldn't take long for the natural world to reclaim what it owned in the first place if humans weren't here.

It probably wouldn't take very long for the plants to just take over.
I love seeing plants grow in odd places.

Don't those small clumps of flowers make a difference. Thats how we as people should be, shining out to others among the mundane world. xx

It always amazes me where things can grow. Those are some very pretty flowers to be surrounded by so much cement.
Have a great day.

It seems like something wants to grow, it will grow almost anywhere. This is such a pretty sight.

Beauty out of the cracks- love it. It doesn't take much to grow some plants and just a little space is all they need. Just like people. We all need to bloom where we are planted.

I love flowers, especially those tough enough to show up in unexpected and difficult spaces! Blessings to you this Easter, Terra.

I always marvel at how that happens.... no dirt and still they mange to survive....

I have some pics of my little violas and a few others growing out of cracks in rocks...love the little guys...

Aren't they amazing? There are some flowers that do that every year here, but defy planting and thriving where I'd like them. It's the same with arbutus trees - they'll grow sideways out of a crack in the rock but refuse to be planted 2 meters away in good earth.

It's amazing how nature shares her beauty in the oddest of places, working their way up through the cracks in a sidewalk. Beautiful pictures Terra.
