Santa Claus hand painted by my friend

This Santa is a new and treasured possession. My friend hand painted this wooden Santa Claus, and this year it joins my home's decorations. She painted it in 1992, I know because she wrote that on the back.
My friend was an expert in Tole painting and in Folk painting, and took classes as far away as Russia and taught many artists over the years.
What new Christmas decoration are you adding this year?

Dear Terra, Your Santa Claus is absolutely delightful and will, no doubt take pride of place in your festive decorations. It certainly would in mine. Lovely!!

I think that Santa is really cute! I haven't picked out any new Christmas decor--although I do plan to put up something my mother gave me. Which is, incidentally, a painted Santa. Wild.

It is so cute, how sweet of her to pass it on to you. I have several new ornaments this year and I am sure I will find something to add to my collection before Christmas comes.

Terra - I love this painted Santa. I'm kinda partial to an old-fashioned Christmas, and this wooden Santa would fit right in!! My husband and I are fans of all things "western" - so we try to add at least a few new ornaments a year - horses, or saddles, or saddles, etc! And then it's fun to decide which of my stuffed animals gets to be the "angel" on the top of the tree!!

(p.s. Thank you so much for visiting my blog earlier! And I so appreciate your comments).

GOD BLESS!

What a lovely gift. I love Christmas things that have a special meaning.
I haven't thought about Christmas decor yet, but this year will be much happier. Last year was the first Christmas holiday without my Mom and it was hard.
This Christmas I will put some of her ornaments on the tree and join my family for a real celebration.

Thanks for viewing my family home post, Terra. My cousins, 3 of them who never got married, live there now with some maids. They grew up there cause their mom, my aunt, was the one who stayed with my grandma there when they were both alive. The corporation consisting of 5 families including us maintain it....Christine
