Autumn leaves in Connecticut

My husband was in Windsor Locks, in Connecticut and took this photo October 23, 2010. In the next few days I will share more of his photos of fall here.
We live in a more temperate climate now and miss the autumn display of leaves in oranges, yellows, pinks and reds.
"Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees. " Faith Baldwin
And in the immortal? words of David Letterman
"Fall is my favorite season in Los Angeles, watching the birds change color and fall from the trees."

You're a long way from this beauty. Don't worry, though, people are kind enough to share pictures.

I love the Faith Baldwin quote...
"..a torch flung to the trees. "
Beautiful. We are getting lovely color slowly here. The rain and wind has taken the leaves fast this year.
We have to go up to the high country to see the real contrast and color of Autumn. Hope to take a drive soon.
I love the photo.... Oh those trees are something. I also love that chair in all the different colors. Someone was very creative.
Enjoy the change of the season.

Very pretty leaves, picture. After the winds today, all the leaves will be gone. May get some snow later this week too!

Dear Terra, The autumn colour is indeed magnificently captured in the photograph you show here. And, what fun, to include the 'rainbow' chair beneath the trees.

We have enjoyed a beautiful autumn. Unfortunately I think our storms yesterday may have stripped most of the leaves.

Beautiful colors. I have always loved the various topography of Connecticut. I spent a few weeks, every summer, on vacation there and have the most happy memories. My daughter was even born in Connecticut, only because we lived in New York at the time...and the hospital my doctor was affiliated with was just across state lines. :) Living now in Texas, I so miss the beautiful crisp colors of fall. Looking forward to seeing more of your husbands CT photographs.
Warmly,
Maureen

Thank you for sharing this lovely photo. I too am hungering to feast my eyes on the colors of fall which were so abundant where I come from but not so much where I live now. Blessings!

Wow.... look at the colours on that little tree.... there is one that I think may be same down the street from us... almost as brilliant in the colour department... and how sweet is the little multi coloured chair under it .... great shot.

We've been favored with a fabulously colorful and sunny fall. I'm trying to burn it into my memory because the cold and gloomy days are upon us now. Love the quotes.

Beautiful leaves. I don't think our trees here in Ohio are quite that pretty.
