Be bold

"Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid."
This quote is meaningful to me and I hope you like it too.
The author is Basil King, who wrote books and was an Anglican priest and married, while suffering at times from depression due to his becoming slowly blind, and having serious thyroid problems.
Basil King was born on Prince Edward Island in Canada in about 1850. I wonder if he knew of L. Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables. King and Montgomery are both noted Canadian writers.

Dear Terra, Being bolder comes more easily with age and experience I feel. Forever nervous as a child, I am increasingly able to 'look the world in the eye'. An inspirational posting.

Good Morning, Terra! I love that quote, and being an Epicopalian, I find it doubly interesting that is comes from an Anglican priest.

Your dishes you won are just fabulous! Isn't it fun to win blog drawings? Here's wishing you best of luck in the drawing on my blog. I will be back from my break after the first of September and will announce the winner then. Hope you are enjoying these last fleeting days of summer.

All the best...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Terra,

This quote really got me to thinking.

I was overcome by fear for a long period of time. I was anything but bold, and yet those mighty forces came to my aid. God loved me, let me know that I wasn't alone, and guided me through great difficulty.

My guess is that what Basil King meant is that when we have unwavering faith, we have nothing to fear. This is true. But what I learned firsthand is that God's love is so great, that even when our faith is weak, we have nothing to fear. We are like newborns in His loving arms.
