How did you choose your blog's name?

I found a great blog today at http://scentedsweetpeas.blogspot.com and yes, I was attracted to it by its charming name. I adore scented sweet peas, and grow them.
Recently that blog's owner asked that question "how did you choose your blog's name?" and as I visit the blogosphere I have often wondered that myself.
I am attracted to blogs by their names and find so many with pretty, whimsical or practical blog names.
Today I also found the http://laughingwithangels.blogspot.com blog.
Wonderful name, right?
My http://terragarden.blogspot.com is inspired by my name Terra, which is Latin for earth, and by my love of gardens and all things green. Thence, Terragarden
Of course, frequent visitors here will know that I see this as a place to celebrate many things. Right now I am on a "protect our wild horses" journey.
How did you name your own blog?

Well, my name is entirely too long -- not catchy -- probably hard to remember. Sigh. I was new to this whole blog thing and had just gone through a horrible church split. I started blogging because I needed a place to work through all of my anger and hurt. I felt like I was Heading Towards My Destiny -- and that is how I came up with my name.

Now I wish I had something more catchy and inviting.

I named mine after my eBay name, or store, Antique ART Garden, three things that I love. I sell antique art, so it is my ' garden of art' online.

I pick my name before I knew about this blogging world. I thought only family would read it. Now I wish I had something more catchy.

Well I love the song "What A Wonderful World This Would Be" and then I got my dog Skye so when I made my blog name I did "Skyesofblue", that is the link name. My blog is called Just Breathe and I always loved it in Ever After when Drew says just breathe. I have severe asthma and some days I would like to Just Breathe.

Hi Terra,
I have no idea how I picked mine! My name was taken, so I had to add something to it...But for my I Owe it All to Him blog, it just came to me because I feel that I owe everything to God.

Oh, quilling (which I never heard of 'til 4 days ago) is an art of rolling paper around a tool...I got it at Hobby Lobby, plus the papers, but they also sell them online...
Hugs,
Cindy

Thank you so much terra for the mention. I chose my name because of my sweet son who has Angelman Syndrome. Because excessive laughter is a hallmark of this syndrome, I was always going to write a book about my journey with him and our life together raising this sweet soul. Thus the name Laughing With Angels.

Good question. I wanted my name in the blog - and I wanted something easy to remember. Just Jemi seemed to work :)

That's a great question! I wish I knew the answer. ha! I used 'Cat' for Catherine of course and I guess like all the other creative people/bloggers out there, sometimes the ol' brain just goes round and round but sometimes things get stuck in a corner and you can't get it out. Hence.... Corner of Cat's Mind. :)

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend friend!

I couldn't think of a catchy or interesting name for my blog. I just used one of my nicknames and since I would mostly be posting about what is going on around my place I ended up naming it what's up around mumsy's. Hugs

Crone - creative researcher of new experiences.

Good question.

Dear Terra, No prizes for knowing how my weblog was named!!

DH thought FlowerLady as my online name because I'm out in my gardens a lot, and I love flowers. When I started my blog I wanted to not post just about gardening but other topics as well and thought of the word musings. I looked up the definition of musings online and the one that struck me was this: thoughts, especially when aimless and unsystematic. So, here I am almost two years later still blogging away at FlowerLady's Musings.

There's never any rhyme or reason to my posts, I try to just go with the flow of each new day.

This is a nice little post and great to hear how others came up with their blog names.

I started a long time ago with my blog and my name was the first thing I thought of. Not terribly creative but when you go to http://karenrobbins.blogspot.com, you will find that the real name of the blog is Writer's Wanderings, chosen because my thoughts wander almost as much as DH and I do and I'm a writer.

I chose my blog name because I thought if I could just follow the words of Christ (the words in red in my old King James) for a year that I would be a different man.

I am.

I wanted my blog to be about creating a charming home. At first that is what I focused on. But now it is more than that.

You have a perfect name for a garden blog. I thought of mine while talking about how my garden is a work in progress which made me think about how I'm learning more about being a gardener in the process.

I too used my eBay store name. I love dragonflys and when the kids were little we would always looks for treasure when we went for walks or outings. The treasure couldbe anything we found that made us smile! Now when I garage/estate sale, even tho they are grown, we still look for treasure. :)

My blog was probably going to feature my bears more than it does now.
They were beginning to clutter up tops of coffee tables and other furniture.... so we bought a barrister bookcase to house some of them.... but, we began calling it the "bearister" bookcase because it was full of bears. Bearister Bookcase just seemed perfect to me, although a lot of folks don't look back to the beginning...and probably don't quite get it. I explained it waaay back at the beginning.... and my header used to be a pic of bears in the bookcase....

hello...
my blog Tender Twines, is named after my name "latika" in Hindi, which means a growing vine...
it is about girls who are like vines in their behaviour and purpose.
Girls are tender in their early age and Indian Girls basically are homely, they bind many relations...
I try to see what gives me and such girls strength and perseverance...
Anywaz I liked the concept of ur blog..:)

Hey Terra! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's so odd to find someone with the same spelling of my name. I have found 2 others here in the blogosphere.
Have a great one!

Whenever I say your name I roll the R's...its a wonderful name!!
I named my Blog after my own name. My son who is a graphic artist told me I needed to do that for when, if, my book gets published.
My editor is so busy that it takes time. God bless you.

Well since my blog is about reading books I thought Peeking Between the Pages sounded catchy and cute and I liked it.

This is an interesting discussion you have started. Growing up in the south, everyone did their visiting on the porch in the warm weather. It also involved a glass of iced tea or a coke, maybe boiled peanuts. So good weather means Porch Days, and that is where I have been spending time in my hammock.
