Daffodils, Wordless Wednesday

Yes, it is wordless Wednesday and here I am adding words!
I bought 2 bouquets of daffodils, grown in Washington state, for $2 each, at Whole Foods store.
I thought they undercharged me, but I checked and that was the right price.
I gave one bouquet to a friend, who is in her late 80s, and recently moved to assisted living. Sad to say, this is the first time in 20 years of our friendship that I can see my friend is "fading". She was mostly alert and carried on a conversation but did ask me if I've been practicing piano, which I have never played, so that was not good. She was thrilled to have the bouquet, it is so cheery.

Dear Terra, How really kind and thoughtful of you and how very sad for your friend. However, I am sure that she would have appreciated the daffodils - I very much hope so. They are so cheerful after the gloom of winter.

It must be spring! I agree, daffodils are cheery flowers. I hope your friend was just having an 'off' day and isn't really fading.

Terra,

What a great way to brighten someone's day. I love fresh flowers and could see myself with these, enjoying their brilliant color.

Love daffodils - one of my favourite flowers! It's so hard to watch older friends fade. I'm glad you managed to give her something warm and friendly :)

You're so right about how cheerful daffodil bouquets are. I'm sorry to hear about your friend and very sweet of you to think of those cheery daffs for her.

You are so thoughtful for your friend, they need more like that in these already late condition. It is good she still remembers many things at that age, actually she is already living in bliss. I hope she is visited by more friends like you, especially her family. By the way, you said you did not know the flower in my last post. The last photo actually revealed the first 3, papaya, that's why i laughed aloud at the end. thanks for your visit.

I Terra, I love your yellow flowers, can't wait until ours bloom. They are going to be really late this yera.

Yes, I am really going to sell the mini horse. I bought him to train to earn some money to fund my Western Pleasure horse show expenses. I have taught Scooby to give me his front feet on command, he's learning to bow and I have him climbing small stairs and high bales . he trust me and will do anythingn i ask of him. I am getting attached, bey he takes alot of time and care and I need to focus on my show horse, I will probably get another when things slow down. Right now we have 8 trainer horses here plus him, so we are full to the gills and my hubby is full time Army. We never rest, only sleep when necessary.

It's been nice visiting a new blog, thank you for stopping by.

your friend,
Shanda

Oh, daffodils. They are my favorite flower, ans such an appropriate backdrop for your story.

e.e. cummings wrote a poem:

"in time of daffodils"

in time of daffodils(who know
the goal of living is to grow)
forgetting why,remember how

in time of lilacs who proclaim
the aim of waking is to dream,
remember so(forgetting seem)

in time of roses(who amaze
our now and here with paradise)
forgetting if,remember yes

in time of all sweet things beyond
whatever mind may comprehend,
remember seek(forgetting find)

and in a mystery to be
(when time from time shall set us free)
forgetting me,remember me

Thank you, The Learner, for the e.e. cummings poem. Sometime I may devote a post to that poem, it is so pretty.
You reminded me that I used to enjoy reading e.e. cummings and Kenneth Patchen and Robinson Jeffers. Those are my 3 favorite "recent" poets. The Lake Country poets like Keats are other favorites.
