review of Treasured by Leigh McLeroy

In her book "Treasured: Knowing God by the Things He Keeps" author Leigh McLeroy examines the tangible treasures that God gives to people as he guides our lives. She weaves together things she has kept as humble treasures, beginning with examining a box containing things her deceased grandfather left, and going on to look at objects from Scripture.
Leigh recalls how God sent a tiny heart shaped leaf to her doorstep when she was sad and lonely one Valentine's day, being as she wrote, "an unmarried forty something woman." This leaf is one of the items in her own treasure box. Her ideas will help you create your own collection of treasures.
She continues with separate chapters about treasures in the Bible, including the olive sprig sent to Noah, a shepherd's harp string and a golden bell.
This book was provided for review by the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group.
Anyone interested in exploring what their own treasured objects are, and learning more about Bible treasures will enjoy reading this book.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like I would like that book. I need some profound but easy reading right now. Maybe inspirational is what I mean.

Sounds like a wonderful book!! God is amazing in the way He shows us us love is such tangible and unique ways! I could write a book on all the fun ways He chooses to speak and make Himself know to me! What a great Savior and God we have!

Terra, this sounds like a book I would like. At a sad time during my life, I can remember walking the beach and at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, looking down and finding the most unusual shell I have ever seen. It was a scallop shell that was completely flat. I could not believe my eyes. Then I prayed that I would some day find another, and I did. I have never before or since found anything like that. I have them in a keepsake box as a reminder of God's infinite love, that on a beach filled with shells, I would find two such unusual ones. To me it illustrates that we are all rare and unique to God and how very much He cares for each of us, calling us from our mother's wombs by name and numbering the hairs of our heads. He is GOOD! :-)

XO,

Sheila
