Tasha Tudor A Gardening Soul Will Be Missed

Tasha Tudor, gardener, author, and illustrator extraordinaire, died this week at the age of 93.
I love Tasha Tudor.
Years ago I splurged and bought the fabulous "Tasha Tudor's Garden" book, full of color illustrations of her and her heavenly gardens.
Oh the sweet peas and the blueberries and the little girls in old fashioned pinafores and six foot tall foxgloves in the secret garden.
What a true lady.
I believe Heaven's gardens are flourishing today with her gentle touch.
The blog at gracioushospitality.blogspot.com has a lovely tribute to Ms. Tudor.

Hi All,
Flower you mentioned Madeleine L'Engle; I have a treasured note that she sent me.
Another true lady, living in the wonderful Crosswicks house.
I enjoyed all 4 of her Crosswicks autobiographical journals. Did anyone else here read them?

That is so sad! I have seen her work in so many books. I particularly loved her portrait of Virgin Mary that I planned on having framed for my girls' bedroom.
On the other hand, what a wonderful blessing to be able to offer so generously and graciously to generations of people.
Makes one wonder what one makes of their own life, really, doesn't it?
Thank you for the lovely tribute.
(And thank you so much fpr stopping by and commenting. I always appreciate your insight).

I've never even heard of Tasha Tudor.
She sounds like a classy woman, and I'm sure many are grieving her loss.

Hi All.
For more about Tasha Tudor, the gifted gardener, writer and illustrator who lived an old-fashioned life style on her rural hilltop, I wrote a column (July 2008) about her at www.positivelyfeminine.org
I write a garden column there every month.
